Micro Interest Orb Found

This morning I saw a micro-orb which is in the sense of identity. This is the citta-vritti thought-idea interest orb. It was moving in an orbit around the core self but in the band of energy which is the sense of identity.

The discovery of this orb is important since it is the source of the core-self’s attraction to the buddhi organs fantastic slide shows of thoughts, ideas and images in the mind.

There is a large challenge in yoga, where unless one gets to the very heart of a problem one cannot solve it no matter what one does. Initially one just cannot get to the source because of gross consciousness and lack of supernatural perception.

Since it takes years of meditation practice, to develop that perception, students never get it because they are impatient and because they were told by others that the path is easy and that they will be experts in the spec of time.

I am now seeing this orb for the first time after steady daily meditation for about 40 years. Yet a student might read this and think that he or she will see this in their next meditation session. Of course it might just happen like that but it is not likely.

This is a discovery because I never read about this in any book nor was I told about this by a yoga guru. Others have seen this orb for sure, but they did not leave notations about it which survive in print today.

A student begins meditation with just a mind, or psyche, which the student identifies as the self. At least that is where I began some 40+ years ago. The student then does what is called going inside the self. So this mind is regarded as the self and the student feels that by focusing within this mind the student is focusing within the self.

Then the student might read books, hear lectures about becoming God that the self is God or that there is a part of this self which is God and a part which is ego.

The student will fuss with this concept for some time. Some students move away from that vague definition and reach a place where there is an understanding that in the mind, in the psyche, there is an observing self and there are observed thoughts, ideas and energies.

Then the student progresses further to understand that the observing self is not what it thinks it is but that it is surrounded on all sides by psychic stuffs which condition it and which it is restricted to accepting for perceptions of everything else.

Then the student advanced further to realize that the mind is compartmentalized, specialized so that a certain part does one thing and then another part does something else.

This goes on and on and on with the eventual isolation of the core-self from the psychic adjuncts in the psyche or mind.

In this meditation, there was a perception of the core-self surrounded by the sense of identity but in the sense of identity there was a micro orb which was rotating around the core self but remained in the sense of identity zone.

This orb is the thing which seeks out the thoughts-ideas of the buddhi intellect orb. Hence the sense of identity itself is not the fault. It is this orb. Control of this orb or change in the nature and function of this orb would solve the problem of the citta-vritti thought fantasy operations.

Perhaps the most significant thing about this is that this was not seen until after I did years of pranayama practice and reached a level of awareness where it became possible to perceive this orb. Besides this, this orb is simply non-existence even though it exists and wields considerable power in the psyche. If something is invisible even if it is the most powerful thing, you won’t know anything about it and you will attribute its actions to other things falsely.

Most meditators mistake the psyche for the self and mistake the self for God and feel that by introverting they are entering the self, while what they are doing is entering the psyche. This might be compared to a man who thinks that his house is himself and this house is the President’s residence. When he enters his house he feels that he has entered himself, while in fact he has just gone into his house. Much of the New Age idea of the self concerns these misunderstandings. It occurs because of a lack of psychic perception. There are many objects in any house but blind owners of such houses cannot see anything which is inside their houses. To them it is sure a oneness without any distinct objects.
