Mental - Emotional Actions in Breath Infusion Practice

MiBeloved 5 years ago

During breath infusion this morning Swami Muktananda came about 5 minutes after the session began. He was present then on the astral side. He had a question for me which was,

“Why are the students so hung up on sensational experiences during spiritual practice? There are so much which happens other wise and which should be noticed. These Western people are into gross consciousness. If something is very subtle they miss it entirely, even if it is very significant in spiritual practice.”

It seems to me that he answered his own question but I replied:

“Kundalini is the motivating force for their sensual or otherwise decisions. It requires sensation since it feeds on that. So long as a student does not master kundalini, the need for gross sensation will continue, and they will continue to ignore what is very subtle, regarding that as being non-existent.”

I kept doing my infusion practice in different postures. He supervised some. Advising this and advising that, especially in regards to the subtle actions being taken by mentally within the psyche. It is one thing to have somebody tell you how to do an asana posture in yoga. That is a physical thing which can be demonstrated. What about subtle actions, mental actions and emotional actions within the psyche? Are your mental actions formless indescribable things? Are your emotional actions specific?

Higher yoga has more to do with emotional and mental actions which are called collectively kriyas. Sometimes you have to be willing to trust a yogi who enters your psyche. First of all do you feel that your psyche, or say your mind, is in a chamber? Is it or is it not? Are you merged in the absolute so you do not have a border or diminishing limit, not even a mental or emotional one?

After I got to the point in the exercises where the trunk of the body was cleared of apana energy, carbon dioxide and other negative gases and subtle airs, Srila Yogeshwarananda showed up. I made a mental note of the event since that is a marker about which level he is on. These yogis show up when you hit the level of consciousness they are currently residing in. Because Yogesh is on a higher level, he is usually reached after about 20 or 30 minutes of practice for the least when the subtle body loses the heavy pranic energy in it and it transits to a higher plane. Swami Muktananda works from a lower level than Yogesh. This is like when you are in an elevator, as you go up you pass different floors upon which certain people reside. Sometimes as you are passing a floor you can see the face of someone through the little window. In yoga it is like that, except that the person actually comes into the elevator and talks to you as soon as you reach the floor of the person’s apartment.

Yogeshwaranand just ignored the presence of Swami Muktananda and then Yogesh said to me,

“You are getting there. Keep it up. He is not a bad guru actually. He can help. I read his book in the astral world. He was sincere when he did the tapasyas. Other acts of his are despicable but who cares. In a world like this, moral failure is the rule. He knows his stuff in a way.”

Then he said to me, “Keep going. Push hard.”

That was when I shifted focus on breath infusion from the trunk of the body to the head. It was a cool morning here in Gainesville Florida as Tobe Terrell’s Zen Hostel. Seems like the place should have been in Japan or China, back in say the 1400’s with several inmates of a Taoism discipline. But that is not the case. It is America 2011. Liberation in this situation is having an iPad and a condom.

I pushed on until the head was infused with fresh astral energy, all dark pockets of it removed.
