My session was longer than usual this morning, purposely. I felt the Kundalini energy rise mildly. Is this possible? I am used to the "burst" in my head (which I experienced as well) but also I felt legs shaking & tingling in my arms after some poses. When I sat to meditate I was a little itchy all over.
I am used to hearing experiences of Kundalini SHOOTING up the spine and bursting with vigor, but does Kundalini envelop the subtle body softly? If so, would I be sensitive enough to feel it in my physical body?
I truly am ignorant concerning Kundalini, that is why I am here. I have to start somewhere & thank Krishna for your association.

Remember that kundalini is running the body and controlling just about all the vital functions in it. Remember that kundalini is involved most of all in sex pleasure experience. In that type of experience there is partial or full arousal of energy. Some of the energy may just subside and come to nothing. Some of it may increase and max out as a pleasure bliss experience beyond compare.
The problem with trying to figure what kundalini is all about during sex experience is that we lose objectivity because of the intensity of the pleasure and the passion energy in it. Passion is what robs the person of objectivity. When the energy is raised as in kundalini yoga, there is less passion in it, if there is any passion at all, and so the person has some objectivity and can study kundalini. There would be no need to rise early and do breath infusion if we could sex ourselves away and study kundalini as well. Due to that we are required to break off from sex expression and make kundalini express itself in another way in which we can study how it operates and how it reaches a bliss aspect.
A few siddhas have studied kundalini during sex experience but only because they are rare persons who do not enjoy in the way we do. They can experience kundalini objectively even during sex experience. In the higher astral planes I sometimes speak to tantric yogis. They are not fascinated with sex pleasure the way we are but they indulge in it and study kundalini just the same.
You can try to imagine a person who while involved in sexual climax experience, and who is in a subtle world where such experience can last for 100 years continuously, taking and explaining the details of kundalini during the experience, just as if nothing was happening, a condition which would put our rational sense out of commission for sure.
So this is the same kundalini. We can expect that it will function in a similar way doing kundalini yoga, that it will rise partially or fully. In sex experience humans described specific bliss experience in the genitals but also in other parts of the body like in the breast, in the thighs, in the buttocks, in the head, in the eyes, in the tongue, in the lips and in numerous other parts. Sometimes the pleasure is so widespread that the person cannot point a finger at a specific place.
The same thing may happen when kundalini is aroused during breath infusion practice, where it can be going in one direction or another, in one part of the psyche or another, or where it seems to be going in all directions simultaneously.
There is front kundalini, side kundalini, up kundalini through the center of the body, down kundalini through the thighs, shoulder-to-fingers kundalini in addition to the well-documented up-the-spine kundalini.

MiBeloved's Response:
Kundalini is all over the subtle body, or stated differently its influence is spread all over the subtle body. As one practices and becomes more and more advanced one can begin to snatch away territory from kundalini, and then one can infuse all parts of the subtle body on one’s own without taking so much help from kundalini. But that is a tall order. For now kundalini is running the show and is involved in every part of the subtle body.
The statement about sensitivity in the subtle body should be written like this:
Would I be sensitive enough to feel kundalini’s spread through the subtle body even while I am conscious of my physical body?
The answer is that for sure you can do that, because a conscious physical body has the subtle body interspaced into it, and feelings in the physical body are actually feelings of two bodies, the subtle and the physical ones happening simultaneously.

Wow, that is a comprehensive explanation. I appreciate the info. I forget that Kundalini is running the show. Funny, I thought Kundalini was peeping out from some elusive place/area that I had to lure it away from....haha. Instead, I REALIZE Kundalini is there, always, and I am working towards awareness/control of such energy as I become advanced in my practice.
What you say makes sense, consequently as I have started to purify myself over the last 15 years I have become vegetarian, lost interest in intoxication and have reduced the need for sexual gratification. All of these changes were happening, but knew it was a special part of me rejecting what was not beneficial....I didn't wake up and make these decisions so to speak. I would always comment that my inner self/being made these choices. I see now that I was infusing my subtle body thru exercise, yoga asanas, meditation, knowledge & it was responding and interacting thru my physical body (actions & needs).
I can see how someone degrades their physical body to the point that the subtle body is suffocating. Maybe their subtle body doesn't have the strength to refuse the pollution. If I even tried to smoke a cigarette these days....my subtle body would kick my ass! Unacceptable! But I am fortunate to have started the process of purification in this lifetime.

Great attempt to understand what is going on. It is always best to look on the brighter side, even if the evidence points in other directions.
Kundalini however is interested in experience, period. That means good or bad, degrading or elevating. It likes pollution and then it does not like pollution. It likes excess which leads to vice and then it likes inhibition.
It is all in the mix for it because it is interested in experience.
Guide it to higher experience and it will become accommodating and attached to that and will leave aside lower behaviors as the memory of such activities fade away.
It wants to taste flesh and it does not want to taste flesh. It wants to overload on sugar. Then it wants to use salt to excess. It is all about experience.
It will try to go up on one life. It will try to go down in some other life. What does it care? It is really interested in experience and that it gets any which way.
It is up to the spirit to draw a line as to what it will condition the kundalini to. If the spirit is unable to do that, then that spirit will have to tag along behind kundalini as it ranges through the various experiences in the material world, accepting the related consequences regardless of if it wants to or not.
