Hello everyone.
I started trying to lucid dream back in April 2009. My method was simply to create a journal of dreams I was having so I could have greater dream awareness, I also try and ask myself "is this a dream?" whenever I remember about it.
I had my first lucid dream in May 2009, so I was quite pleased with myself and had them occasionally after that. Unfortunately I'm just coming out of a stage of having no lucid dreams (or perhaps lucid dreams I can't recall) probably down to not keeping as good a journal as I did when I started. Most of the time I only get down a few words in an illegible squiggle.
So recently I've tried writing with a bit more care in the mornings, and I've recently had a few borderline lucid dreams or perhaps dreams where I thought I was lucid dreaming.
Anyway, the reason I'm posting is because I always had trouble taking conscious control of a dream, doing things like changing the location, creating objects, flying etc.
As a recent example, 20th of November 2010, I can recall having a lucid dream where I was trying to bring down a wall but the best I could do was bend it a little but then it snapped back into place.
I am suspecting that doing such feats is more about negotiating with the dream rather than simply an act of will.
It seems like most people find controlling the dream pretty easy once they get lucid but not for me.
Anyone else have this problem or have any advice on how to overcome it?

I feel there is no case of any person who can say that they were able to control every one of their lucid dream events.
That cannot be true.
Some are controlled and some are not just as in this life, some things go our way and some things just stubbornly and effectively resist our desire.
Unless the dreamer in the lucid dreams created all the stuffs which appear in the dream or has some type of hypnotic control over what is in the dream, there is no way, the person can have 100% control.
