Lahiri Mahasaya / symbiosis with trees

Sri Lahiri Baba showed me a procedure today which is a bhastrika - kapala bhati procedure, done in the stage where most of the carbon dioxide is pulled out of the physical system and the apana energy is extracted from the subtle body. One can also use the anuloma/viloma alternate breathing method but that takes a long time, hours to complete the extraction. The choice is the student’s based on how one is attractive to a passive or aggressive method. Bhastrika is the aggressive path.

Once the student causes the fresh air and fresh-astral energy to be compressed into the physical and subtle systems, then there remains one feature to check on which is to see, if every bit of the used air and energy, was extracted. One will find that in certain areas of the bodies, the cells, tendons and bones may hoard some negative energy. These energies must be extracted to bring the subtle body into a full infusion of fresh energy.

A student should do the breath infusion method which works and which gave a proven advancement but with the intention of locating and extracting all used air/energy out of the systems.

When this procedure becomes easy, when it becomes a reflexive action, the student should then try to communicate with the trees. Spirits using tree forms can be friendly to a student yogi who turned aside from routine exploitation and who has minimized his or her needs and is no longer a threat to everything else which is on the planet. That student has curbed the exploitive needs of the kundalini life force.

Making psychic contact with the trees the yogi should feel that all the carbon dioxide/apana energy which is extracted goes into the pores of the leaves of the trees, while these trees release oxygen which enters through the nostrils and pores of the yogi.

In the symbiotic relationship, the trees feel as if they are mothers with the sun planet as the father to the yogi, providing nourishment. There arises from this mutual appreciation between the yogi and the trees a large dimly lit chamber where the yogi finds himself under the shelter of the trees. A relationship with affection and friendship is realized.

====================

After this kriya was experienced, Baba suddenly lifted my subtle body and inverted it. Then he pointed to the buttocks of it which was full of roots, like the roots of a tree. These were tiny tiny nadis which spread out into the buttocks of the subtle body.

This is great.

It's interesting that during my class tonight that was practiced outside, I told my students during tree pose to let the trees help them, to pick one of the many trees all around us and commune with it.

I reminded them that those are spirits in those trees and that they like being paid attention to.

As some struggled with this balance form, I said let the tree show you how to stand like it, to be like it.

Bury your legs under the ground like roots, make your torso like a strong sturdy trunk coming up out of the earth and let your arms and hands express as branches, limbs and leaves.

Instantly when they make the little effort it takes to commune, their balance understanding kicks in.

We remembered to appreciate that what we breath out the tree breathes in and what the tree breaths out we breath in.

It's a wondrous relation.  They are always ready to help.

Tree is one of my all time favorite asana.  Breath infusion within it is great.

From Caitanya REAL on LinkedIn:

Michael ,

This indeed was what Chaitanya experienced. But is it a visualization , teachings from Baba, an excerpt from someone’s experience or did you really experience it. It’s so stepwise manner that it cannot be words of an inexperienced. Because if you experience this you would realize there is no carbon di oxide or oxygen. Wonderful.

What Chaitanya experienced next was the Aura of visible and the invisible. Is it mentioned somewhere ? Because it was prior to the ultimate experience.

MiBeloved's Response:

This was experienced during the last two days during breath infusion practice and is a new perception and a release into being under the shelter of the trees and also having the trees as a mother over the yogi while practicing pranayama exercises. This is related to the stage of extraction of apana carbon dioxide energy from within the cells of the physical and subtle bodies simultaneously.

In this experience I realized that before I was taking fresh air for granted and was not knowing or acknowledging trees as the source of it. I was not actively appreciating that. There was some neglect on my part towards the trees and a no-thanks you attitude towards them, not realizing they were making a contribution to my existential upkeep of the physical and subtle bodies.

The result of this is immediate samyama when sitting to meditate immediately after with the experience of a wide-sky, round-inside-shape, subtle body, like living inside a large spherically shaped, dimly-lit, tank and floating about in the space of it with tiny energy orbs ad objects floating about.

Beautiful what Lahiri Baba shared with you, Michael.

Trees are our brothers and sisters and need to be treated with great respect.. as I teach my art students this, I instruct the correct way to draw a tree, then we go out and make chalk murals of trees on a concrete retaining wall next to the school’s main building.

Yes, yes trees are as a great grandpa or grandma. Trees in my yard all know I love them. There is an area in my backyard where I meditate and I sense the trees and every plant around are happy about this.

A new area was discovered yesterday a dusk, where vines are making a nice enclosure to sit in for meditation. It is like a vine cave attached to the tree. Thank you.
