This is to clarify the various energies involved in rising kundalini, especially the link between sex energy and kundalini. In this system the chakras are on the spine and are not in any other part of the trunk of the body. However these spinal chakras express themselves in the body. It conditions various organs there. In effect the spinal chakras spread their influence to other parts of the body.
Look at this diagram, in which the infusement of breath is taking place. As it passes through the pubic area, the breath is surcharged with sexual energy from the sexual organs which are the testes and ovary mechanisms. Picking up a charge there, a sort of static electricity charge, the breath-infused energy which is in the blood stream, directs itself to the base chakra.
Look at this second diagram in which the sexually charged infused breath energy in the blood stream causes kundalini to spark. Since it was hit by the infused energy, kundalini begins to explode but it does so at the base chakra and does not move up the spine.
Look at this third diagram in which the pubic sex force is dissipated, used up as it was by the breath infused energy. Thus the sex charge in the public area disappears. Kundalini has not moved up the spinal column but it maintains its explosive charge and it is being fed more energy by the breath infusement which the yogi continues to do during a session of exercises.
Look at this fourth diagram. Notice that kundalini has begun to move up the spine and has reached a little above the 2nd chakra which is the sex chakra. There is a dark color above the chakra because that area has a dense energy which kundalini has not vaporized. Thus far kundalini has vaporized only the energy in the two lower chakras
Let me stress that the sex chakra is on the spine itself. The sex organ chakra is in the pubic area and in the gonads (testes). There is a difference between the sex organ chakra and the sex chakra but some persons confuse these chakras and consider them to be one chakra only. In kundalini yoga, the sex organ chakra has value in its delivery of energy to the infused breath energy. It has no other value. But the sex chakra on the spine is different and it has value as part of the conduit passage of kundalini. When going up the spine, kundalini passes through it and when coming down the spine, kundalini passes through it in reverse.
Kundalini is least concerned with the sex chakra on the spine but it is very much addicted to the sex organ chakra in the pubic area. During sexual climax, kundalini runs up one notch on the spine to the sex chakra and then it shoots out of that chakra and hits the sex organ chakra. This gives a pleasure which we are all too familiar with and which in Sanskrit is called prajananda (not prajnananda). This means the pleasure (ananda) derived from begetting progeny (praja).
This pleasure is contrasted with brahmananda which is the pleasure felt when kundalini hits the crown chakra.
In both cases it is the same kundalini but the expressions of it vary.

Do you think you can get such a thing as kundalini under control? Before answering this question hastily, please take into account kundalini’s power of bewilderment. Consider sexual climax. Have you figured that out as yet? Were you able to trace that to kundalini? Can you determine how kundalini moves from the spine into the sex chakra and causes the almost intolerable uncontrollable addiction of sex climax?
