Question:
In a pranayama session of 30-45 minutes...if one can raise Kundalini up the sushumna more than once...is that recommended? Or is it better to do it just once and concentrate on infusing breath in other parts of the body, such as the thighs?
MiBeloved's Response:
Both of these methods are required at your stage of practice. Primarily you should raise kundalini up sushumna and do that more than once if you can so as to blast out any heavy energy that is there or that becomes reestablished there.
What happens is that once kundalini rises through sushumna it immediately goes back down to muladhara and as it does dark energies become reestablished immediately.
The elephant does like a fresh water bath but it also likes the mud pools. Hence soon after taking the fresh water bath in a sandy place which has no mud, it will seek out the mud pools. So until you are sure the kundalini is not reestablishing the dark astral energy in the sushumna after rising and falling, you have the repeated rising of it as your only means of dealing with this issue.
Sushumna does not remain open by chanting mantras or by visualization and such. It remains open by blasting it out with kundalini which is infused by breath energy.
A time will come when this is no longer an issue and then you can make the rest of the psyche the target and forget about sushumna nadi clearing as an objective.
I worked on sushumna nadi cleansing from around 1973 to about 2008. That is over 30 years before I got any hint about dealing with the rest of the psyche. Srila Yogeshwarananda and Tibeti Yogi were the ones who got me to jump over to dealing with the psyche. So from that you can get some estimate of how long it will take to get to keep sushumna nadi cleared permanently.
The thing is that you have to forget all those lies you heard about how yogis sit and make kundalini go up sushumna nadi by doing meditation, mantras and the like. Face up to the fact that it is not that easy. It takes years to master. Kundalini is not interested in liberation. You may be serious about it for all we know but in the psyche, you are a loner. The adjuncts have no interest in it. And they are not going to listen to any mantras, nice music or visualization about it.
So you might have a question which is:
When will I know that sushumna nadi is permanently cleared?
The answer is:
When kundalini remains hanging down from the lower back brain as a short stub of light about one and one-half inches long.
It does this when it no longer has an interest in muladhara chakra, when that place no longer attracts it.

Keep the questions coming? Don‘t be scared to ask them. If a question is not answered or if it is not answered satisfactorily, then find a way to rephrase it and ask it again.
In this business of kriya yoga, it is sink or swim. And if we don’t see a guy fighting up swimming out there we assume that he is floating dead and we just do not bother with him.
