Kundalini Reduction and Absorption

During practice this morning Yogi Bhajan showed me a kriya for kundalini reduction and then total absorption into the mind chamber which is the head of the subtle body. This process begins with the kriya which a Buddha Deity in South Korea imparted to me, which is the attack of the base area to which Kundalini attached itself. This is not an attack of the kundalini base chakra but the place where the base chakra attached itself.

There is the base chakra and there is the place where the base is attached to. This is something like a lamprey fish, which attaches itself to a rock or even to a living creature or it is like how a leech attaches itself to the body of another living creature. There are two ways to get the leech to move, which are to do something to the leech which causes it to release itself or to do something to the location where it is attached which will cause the leech to become separated from that place.

The Buddha deity’s idea is for an all-out attack on the location where the base chakra is attached. This is a pranaiama breath infusion attack that is so furious, so energy-forceful, that the location itself becomes obliterated or vaporized astrally. Hence kundalini is left with nothing to attach itself to and it becomes a bit confused.

It is well know that Gautama Buddha practiced yoga in India from several austere yogis in the forest in northern India, but after following at least two sincere teachers, he did not achieve liberation because their methods were not strong enough and penetrating enough to yield that. Thus the Buddha went off by himself and began to meditate on his own. He did very severe tapas, austerities, like living on air alone without taking any food or water. And still doing all that he could not shed off material nature. It kept clinging to his core-self no matter what he did, until at last he shifted his attention away from reacting to matter and focused without a bias for matter on the permanence-reality.

These practices of Buddha are secret for the most part and many monks are still at a loss to know exactly what he did and how he did it.

In any case one of the kriya which he discovered is that to deal with kundalini, if one attacks its anchor point, one can subdue in a much quicker way than if one attacks the kundalini itself, which was the method used in India by the yogis who taught Buddha before he branched out on his own.

If one has practiced sufficiently the breath infusion practice, then if one attacks the area just below the base chakra and just forgets about attacking the base or even the kundalini as a whole, one will get some very rapid results.

First of all one will not be able to find the base if one has not practiced sufficiently, so this method won’t work for those yogis who are just beginning the practice or who have not done enough breath infusion practice before hand.

What happens is this:

When one first attacks the area below the base one will find a brown-black cloudy area of mist subtle energy at the base. This will feel like a round shaped piece of stone, like large river gravel-stone. Above that will be the base chakra. One should ignore the chakra. One should do the breath infusion driving the air mentally into the area below the base. At first nothing will happen and this might occur for days or weeks of practice. But after a time, there will be a white fire energy which will surround that area. And then after a time again the area itself, the mist cloud will all of a sudden ignite and begin to burn.

At this point there might be a flash at the place and one might feel compelled to shift the focus on the base chakra. One should ignore this compulsion. As one keeps trying day after day, eventually the cloud of energy will just burn up and be no more and there will just be a black space where the location was. Even the base chakra will not be there anymore but if one looks up into the spine, one will see a white energy like white-hot metal.

When this first happens one should not be over-confident because kundalini will again resume its usual configuration and the base area below the base chakra will again resume its dark cloud presence.

One should keep working at it day after day, until the cloud just does not reform any more. When this happens, then one will find that there is no base chakra and there is no second chakra either but there is a diamond shape bottom to the kundalini which is just hanging down in the center of the spine above where the second chakra used to be.

Kundalini in spine

Yogi Bhajan said that one should keep infusing breath energy into that diamond until it retreats into the mind which is the head of the subtle body. And that believe it or not is the end of kundalini for the time being.

The words for-the-time-being are important since it means that kundalini can reform if the yogi is not careful or if the yogi is compelled against his wish to become socially involved again with persons who are not siddhas.

Hey Michael!

After removing the base of the base chakra, what are the psychological results noticed on a day to day basis?  In other words, once you finish this kriya, how do you feel as you go throughout your day?

I ask because the astral body affects the physical, so any major change (such as removing the base and 'for the time being' making the kundalini retreat into the mind) will more than likely be noticed physically.  Or are these changes only apparent in the mind? Will other people notice that you have accomplished this major achievement?

MiBeloved’s Response:

The physical body is a pre-set time bomb which is set to go off at a certain time in the future without fail. It will go on existing and doing what it is destined to do, even for a yogi. So long as he is in a certain environment, his karmic repercussions from past lives will find the body and deal with it accordingly. Adjusting kundalini is not going to stop those reactions from coming to the body.

The body is fully the property of material nature, and so it will continue under that influence. Let us go back to the life of Buddha, where sometime after enlightenment he had to return to the place where his body was picked up initially and right away the karmic reactions which were due to him and which were suspended when he left, began to reassert. His son who was a bit grown up came to him and asked for the inheritance, since that was the social rule at the time.

The destruction of kundalini like this does not affect the layout of time which is already coming and which is being laid out before us like asphalt on a superhighway.

The yogi notices a change in his perception in that it gives him more psychic insight in what nature is doing. But it is a mistake to think that just because I know something I can change it. That is not necessarily so because usually nature accepts no interference.

A yogi who had destroyed the base of kundalini, still has to function under time’s demands so long as he is in its domains. His own way out is to remove his presence from certain levels of existence.

Suppose I get an idea that I will go somewhere different in order to avoid the time layout which is before me right now. What do you think time will do? It won’t release me from everything. It will only release me from its constraints in this dimension. As soon as I arrive in some other, it will immediately assert itself and push some providence in my face.

Liberation only works fully 100% if the yogi gets out of the material energy in full, that means out of it completely even out of its psychic reach. There is no way to escape completely from it so long as one’s existence has a register in its gross or subtle domains. But the yogi does have the advantage of psychic insight into what it is doing and to some extent into why it acts in specific ways. But it has a tag on everyone, liberated or not, and it serves warrants without discriminating.

MiBeloved’s Response:

The only persons who will notice are yogis on par or higher yogis. These persons using psychic perception will notice the difference. Others will see no difference because their perception cannot acknowledge things which are subtle. There is no physical change in a yogi because of this. In fact a yogi who is really advanced will take steps not to be discovered because discovery is costly.

If someone finds out that one can read past lives or see other psychic things, then people will ask about that and want the yogi to use those abilities whimsically. That will hurt the yogi. One sure sign of a foolish yogi is that he or she makes the self available for whimsical request and also for making money peddling psychic ability and the occult.

If you really understand that nature does not tolerate interference in his affairs, you won’t exhibit anything paranormal which would affect what nature is doing.

The result of this in a yogi’s life is that he or she becomes more efficient in paying off whatever debts he has occurred in material nature in the past and which she now presents the bills to him for payment. This is how a yogi reinvests his increased psychic perception into his practice and makes more and more advancement exponentially. It is not to be used otherwise, at least so long as one has higher teachers guiding one.

Srila Yogeshwarananda has laid down a rule, where whosoever accepts him as a teacher has to abide by this rule of always reinvesting in the progress and not exhibiting anything externally.

I write what I write and share what I share with serious people.

The idea is no interference in Nature’s business, and prompt payment for any debts one incurred in previous lives when one was involved in massive ignorance.
