I did some seated pranayamas which produced kundalini risings as usual.  Kundalini moving about during bhastrika exercises several times also.

MiBeloved's Response:

There are duties to perform when kundalini arises during a breath infusion part-session. The procedure for kundalini when it arises after a series of breaths or after a particular new posture is assumed after a breath infusion series of breaths, is different to when kundalini rises during a series of breath. The different is mainly due to the application or non-application of the locks

After a series of breaths when one stops after an inhale or an exhale, one applies the locks and can focus fully on that application and the resulting constriction and movement of kundalini and any other energy which moves or explodes in the subtle body. One can also see what happened to the compressed subtle energy which was infused into the subtle body, as to where it went or where it is going, as to how it was or is being diffused, as to what part of the psyche arrested it or used it greedily or passively.

Some time when I teach students, I do not allow them to remain in this stage of application of the locks for too long. I may instruct that they begin breathing again even if the compressed energy has not diffused through the subtle body completely or even if I know that there is a slight or a major movement of energy in their psyches. The reason for this is for training in how to ignore the desire to enjoy the movement of kundalini and also to show them how to arrest the moving kundalini and drag it here or there or force it to compress itself into itself more.

Have I explained this to the students?

No! Usually I do this in the student’s psyche and do not explain it to the student because it is too subtle for the student to perceive these mystic actions.

Teachers do not explain everything with students learning because some learning is done without self-assessment. Some learning takes place on the subconscious and instinctive levels. These are not in the realm of the person’s immediate comprehension.

****************************

When you keep breathing while kundalini moves up the spine or moves somewhere else, or when you continue breathing when there is a burst of compacted infused energy somewhere in the psyche, you have two actions which you can usually do.

Procedure 1.

Pull the energy up through the trunk of the subtle body, through the neck into the head and use the breathing process to give yourself the lifting strength required. If for instance kundalini is moving up the spine and it is at say just above the navel chakra on the spine, then if you arrest it there and pull it up further using breathing energy, then what will happen is that kundalini will move up but as it moves up it will get lighter and lighter (as in light weight) and it will come up but as it comes up it will seem to fizz out and turn like a streak of white light which turns into a single strand white-yellow energy in a diffused white and crystal energy field.

Procedure 2.

If on the other hand you find a clump of bliss force and you keep breathing into it, it will compresses into itself like what happens in a nuclear explosion, where initially a small charge causes the nuclear material to implode into itself. If you keep compressing more and more into it, this compressed energy will eventually explode into tiny pixel-like fragments. When it does this, it will seem like when people are trapped in a mine shaft in the earth and they hear an explosion. There will be surprised expression on their faces and great fear will get hold of them.

So the energy will look like bright faces of super-scared people who are so scared that they cannot even think that what happened is dangerous and that they will be dead at the next moment.

Each pixel fragment which exploded will be looking to the core-self as if a mother had hundreds of babies of her own, all crying in cribs and looking to her to push her breasts into their mouths.

Because of the presence of the attention and focus of the core self each pixel of the exploded energy will be aware of the core-self and will stare at it in wonderment, waiting to see what it will do. This is why it is vital to pay attention while doing the exercises and to look down into the trunk of the subtle body. If possible be blindfolded while you do breath infusion to be sure that the mind does not try to use the vision to see outside the body. All visionary power and interest should be inside the subtle body only. None of it should leak out. All sensual interest should be inside the body. None of it should seek anything outside the subtle body. This is just like we have been conditioned to enjoy while having sexual intercourse, where nature compels us to give all attention to the energies which are aroused in the psyche concerning that.

The other day a lady explained to me how no person could have affectionate sexual intercourse and not be involved in it or be detached from it. She did not think that was possible. They are arguments pro and con about this. But it illustrates the issue that sexual intercourse is so compelling that there are doubts in some human beings as to whether a person can be detached while it is going on. This is a great for humanity, because it means that through sexual intercourse, we can learn something about full absorption. If we could learn this and then apply it to these practices, we would have produced a siddha factory, pumping out siddha after siddha in a very short time of this breath infusion practice, which Yogi Bhajan so graciously introduced.

The problem with this idea is that we have a flaw which is that as soon as we become absorbed in some pleasure or bliss energy, our learning ability is usually suspended. Such is the situation. The equation is written like this:

More Pleasure or Bliss = Proportionately Less Objectivity

Email Correspondence:

During meditation there was Some Spanish Flamenco guitar music which I listened to yesterday. It was re-playing in the background. Of my mind.

MiBeloved's Response:

The rule of sensual intake is that whatever is ingested, will be digested and whatever is digested will have to work its way through the system. This means that if I listen to any music or sound which has the potential to upset meditation later, I must man-up to it and prepare myself for a lapse in practice.

In higher yoga the use of mantras and visualization to reverse the effects of my careless actions which affect meditation, have no place.

Instead of using a mantra or doing a visualization process to remove an unwanted impression which got into my mind through sensual energy exposure, the student confronts the bad energy in the mind and deals with it head-on, or he (she) may abandon the energy altogether starving it of attention so that eventually it will fizz out and be no more.

There are breath infusion practices where one breathes into the brain area where the negative energy lodged and is being stored or displayed. The unwanted energy is extracted from the subtle body in that way.

The best cure however is to realize that any exposure of any sensual energy to any occurrence will affect the quality of meditation in a positive or negative way later.

Inquiry from Jivana on LinkedIn:

MiBeloved's Response:

Bad energy in that case refers to any music or sound which has the potential to upset meditation later. In other words, if I like a particular song, I usually listen to it over and over and derive some satisfaction and appeasement from it.

But then when I sit to meditate, that sound may begin playing in my mind diverting me from the focus of the meditation. The same sound which I enjoyed previously then becomes the bane or downside for meditation, so that it prevents me from reaching the goal of the meditation session.

Therefore I am left in a fix to decide if I should listen to that music again, because now I know that it has an undesirable effect which becomes manifest during meditation.

Dealing with it head on means to ask myself if the enjoyment I derive from the sound sufficiently offsets the negative effect that same sound have in meditation. I must also look into the mind to see how it first records a favorable sound and then later it, of its own accord, replays that to my dissatisfaction. Can I change this method of the mind? Can I have absolute control, so that I can compel the mind not to reproduce a once-favorable sound at a time when it would be a disturbance?
