MiBeloved 5 years ago

During practice with breath infusion, Srila Yogeshwarananda appeared as soon as I was able to infuse the lower trunk of the body. It took some time to do this because of the nature of the air, and also because during the night, I had an astral encounter in the Philippines and another in the West Indies. The main drag on practice was the one in the Philippines. While I was there I had a relationship with a young lady back in 1970. Now suddenly I found myself as my astral body on the island, near the location where the air base was located. Physically the base is now shut down. A volcano demolished it years ago. Still many Philippino lived in the area.

The lady I knew there tracked me down through a person I knew in the West Indies just about the same time around 1970. That person brought her to me astrally and then my astral body just left Florida and went to the location near the air base.

The lady wanted to rehash over the events of our relationship and also tally what happened to her since them. I listened. More or less she filled complaints about providence’s treatment of her destiny.

She had this feeling that I was somewhat responsible for what happened to her after I left the island. It was one unfortunate thing after the other. After a time, gradually, I calmed her down by not saying anything and by agreeing to the complaints. Then I left that place. I got up about 30 minutes later than I should have to begin the practice. The breath infusion was slow at first and the subtle body being stupefied by the encounter with the woman, was slow to respond. In fact during the first ten minutes it simply refused to take any of the breath energy but then after this something clicked and it began to absorb the energy. Then I was released from the effects of the woman’s association.

I can just see that in my next life, due to some association like this, I will come out as a native of the Philippines and then have to struggle for a living and then have to crawl back to advanced yoga practice to get myself in order and to guide myself back to the shelter of a great yoga guru. The whole business of taking rebirth is out of control. Nobody is taking it seriously when I mention it and people feel that I am just imagining all this stuff in my head. But that is alright.

During the infusion practice sometimes when the energy gets compressed down in the lower part of the body, one should when one stops on an inhale or exhale, apply the locks quickly and then stretch to the right or twist to the right, let the energy rise to that side or to the other side under compression, and then stretch to the other side and have the energy rise into the corresponding area under compression. This is called rise in ida and pingala, in the right and left channels which creep up on either side of the sushumna central channel.

This is a very important thing to learn. Usually I do not discuss ida and pingala but in some infusions the sushumna is not used and one uses either of the channels on either side of it. Sometimes one side is infused more than the other, as in the case where you stretch to one side and then kundalini energy or compressed astral force rises on that side or to the other side with intensity. Then you stretch to the other side and there is very little rise or no rise at all.

This happens because of the kind of energy which is in the atmosphere at the time of practice. The main thing is to be looking down into the body, to be very attentive within the psyche during practice. If you have to, you may wrap a cloth around the eyes or use a ski cap and pull it down over the eyes.

A simple thing like not closing the eyes, not focusing internally can cause you an extra 5 or 6 or more years of practice, to reach an advanced stage. Once when Yogi Bhajan was speaking to me about practice, he said this,

“The main cause of lack of progress is inattentiveness within the psyche. Keep the attention within the confines of the psyche, within the borders of the subtle body. Do not let the attention leak out to anything during practice. Pay attention. Breathing and breathing and breathing for years on end, rapidly or as people usually do without any effort, will result in nothing if you are not attentive within the psyche. Track kundalini’s slightest movement during practice.

When Srila Yogeshwarananda appeared I had infused the lower trunk into a white heat state. The higher part of the trunk in the chest was in a grey energy state, which meant that it was not fully infused. It is not easy to infuse the entire trunk and one should not try to do it until one has mastered infusing just the sushumna central passage. Infusion of the entire trunk will frustrate a student therefore it should not be the objective until a very advanced stage of practice.

I mention this so that when you reach an advanced level and if I am not physically present, then you might get some hints in these notes, otherwise this information is useless for most students.

Yogeshwarananda was directing me within to stand up in tadasana. This is a famous posture which was used by Arjuna when he was practicing samadhi states in the Himalayas when he wanted to go to the angelic heavenly world to get help from some deities who reside there.

Tadasana

I stood up in a partial tadasana (which is done fully on tippy toes). In this practice the entire sole of the feet stay on the ground. Then one lifts the arms up and they are held up in the air. The mental focus is in the thighs only.

If the bottom of the trunk was infused, one can then infuse the thighs. One will find that there is a closed area in the joints at the knees, such that the infused energy will not pass into the legs but will remain in the thighs.

In the Vedic literatures, the Puranas, usually Vishnu is said to be the patron deity of locomotion. Without locomotion one has to remain in one place in a physical body like that of tree or a barnacle. With locomotion, one can move around. For locomotion the primary means are gripping and dragging like a snake, or using fins, wings and feet. Fins are a more essential development and after that wings or feet may develop.

If a yogi can bring the locomotion energy under control, he or she can side step many birth opportunities as a human being, animal or less. Desire is the big driving force. It causes a feeling that one needs certain fulfillments. Hence one takes a body here or there as given by providence. This process can be changed by controlling the locomotion energy of the subtle body.

When I sat to meditate, naad sound was in the back of the head, near the back top but only for about 3 minutes, then it switched and was behind the lower neck about 6 inches away from the lower neck. I linked into it for the remaining part of the meditation session.
