Every living being has some insight vision which dictates how circumstances are exploited, neglected, or exploited in part and neglected in part.
I perceive these insights as follows
- Materialistic
- Materialistic and psychic in combination
- Psychic
Materialistic Insight:
The materialistic insight regards the physical existence as permanence. When it is confronted with evidence to the contrary, it increases its confidence in physical reality by shifting attention to a real or imagined enduring material form.
An example is the young man whose father was dying from a terminal disease. Doctors did everything they could but the father’s body keeps failing to a greater degree. Vital organs began to shut down permanently. Doctors informed the man about his father’s impending demise. Having to face up to the reality that the medical profession could do nothing to interrupt nature’s failing processes in his father’s body, the young man turned his attention to an infant who was nearby in the hospital ward.
This infant was born the day before. It was healthy and was to be discharged later the same day. Instead of contemplating his father’s situation, the young man instinctively began to consider the life prospects of the infant. This removed the specter of his father’s death from his mind.
Materialistic and psychic insights in combination:
The materialistic and psychic in combination is a confusing vision. It show on one hand the permanence of the material reality but it also shows a psychic reality which transcends the material reality.
Material reality is not permanent but it may be accredited as such on the basis of the endurance of some of its materials.
This causes confusion of mind, mixed priorities and schizophrenia where the individual pursues the material reality for a benefit but loses faith frequently in the material world, because of seeing that the psychic reality may affect the permanence either to extend it or to curtail it.
Psychic Insight:
The psychic insight is dangerous because when the individual is with that perception, he or she has some difficulty taking the material world seriously. Those who believe in the material world and who take their time to develop life in it, are doubtful about the sincerity of those with psychic insight.
The simple way is the all or nothing approach. Hence those who have some materialistic insight and some psychic perception are suspect to those who are materialistic.
The person with psychic insight does not make a full contribution to the physical world. This is due to a lack of appreciation for physical permanence, which though imaginary functions nevertheless.
Due to perceiving the psychic reality, which is the underbelly of the physical existence, this mystic cannot sincerely believe in the physical existence. He or she has to repeatedly find cause for investing interest into the physical world.
