This movie is worth seeing. The main theme which is that one person can influence another person’s fate without the fated one realizing the mental penetration, happens to every human being in this world.

Seeing the movie might inspire some viewers to take their dreams seriously and to make an effort for lucid dreaming, or conscious astral and dimensional projections.

This movie brings to the viewer’s attention that memory may have a run-away effect on someone and may force that person to enter dimensions and even become locked into dimensions involuntarily.

The intertwining between one persons’ mind and another and the outcome of that is presented in more than one of the circumstances within the movie.

How clashing memories and ideas are settled is also dealt with.

The operation of the subconscious is dealt with. In fact it is stated in the movie that the conscious self and the subconscious self are two realities and ties to one another with the subconscious usually having the upper hand and forcing the conscious to comply with it either in this existence or in an astral world.

The way the subconscious protects its existential interest is shown, even to the extent of the subconscious creating killing teams to riddle its opponents to death. This is all taking place within the mind, according to the movie.

The danger of getting stuck into a parallel world, getting involved there and totally forgetting this physical existence is dealt with. The power of guilt feelings which develop from irresponsible acts, is clearly shown in the movie, and how that affects one’s relationship with persons in the astral world is shown as well.

How resentment chains a person to time and circumstance is shown, as the main actor’s wife’s resentment penetrated more than once while the actor was involved in serious issues. The resentment was so powerful that it seized the means of perception and blackmailed the actor into giving his name and other particulars.

There is violence in this movie but it is explained that the violence was more or less enacted by the subconscious in its bid to protect itself. One premise is that the subconscious tries to protect itself from the rational conscious mind and will resort to violence if it feels threatened by the conscious self.

Draupadi just called me about this movie. Everyone should see it if possible and it can be discussed on the forum.

I saw Inception and thought it was a great movie with quite a few layers of depth.  The producers clearly understood the inner workings of the subtle mind and how a thought or memory can hold a person's mind hostage in the dream (subtle) world. Also the idea of sedation to control this is very interesting.  I suspect that a lot of the research in the old days into lucid dreaming, other worlds, and such topics was done with the use of powerful stimulants that relaxed the physical connection.

That said, although this movie might inspire people to pay more attention to dreams and attempt lucid dreaming, among other things, it will have a short term impact that will fade away.  It is possible, however, that one day society will develop to the point where the physical is no longer interesting and where 'virtual worlds' become more than just a computer-created illusion.  In this case, we will play in the subtle worlds instead of with our physical bodies.  I think it's only a matter of time.
