Hydro1 from astralvoid asked about the higher self. It was mentioned during yesterdays chat.
----------------------
Jettins: Michael, what is the higher self? I keep hearing about that on youtube. what do you make of it?
MiBeloved: Higher self. It depends on the particular group or sect or organisation which speaks of it. The definition varies. In India however it began with what was called the Paramatma, where you are called an atma and then there is a Supreme (param) atma or self. But in India the Paramatma is like Shiva or Krishna and you are jivaatma or limited self. Some in India say however that you have a lower self or ego and that you have another self, a higher self which is paramatma and that you have to transfer to the higher self. So again you have to get the definition from the particular sect.
Jettins: those in India that say we have a lower self or ego and another self, a higher self. How do the parallels selves fit into this idea?
MiBeloved: ONLY SOME IN INDIA SAY THIS. In that system you have to meditate to shift yourself to your higher self and gradually you have to kill off or eliminate your lower self

And how does he suggest we go about killing/eliminating our lower self...it’s not like we can harm anyone in and thru astral projection...and if we do kill the lower self how does it affect us here in the physical...do we turn good like as far as our stress and depressions and oppression go, will we still exp those lower bad emotions if it effects the physical us...cause in the astral you can banish a spirit from you but it will still always be there may be somewhere else at that time but it’s still there....so ask him that and I would like to hear your opinion about it too.

Reply by Jettins:
I don't think killing or eliminating the lower self is the way to go. Instead raise the lower self so that it can transfer into a higher self. But this part is just my speculation, I can't conclude this based on my experiences in the astral. Instead of dividing your parts by eliminating and casting them away you should be thinking about integrating them. Raise the lower emotions such as stress, oppression and depression up to the standard of the more constructive side. This may even reflect in the parallel and future selves, the activities they do and the things they can relate to our present self. It might even connect our parallel versions to work with us in a common purpose by creating the "state of readiness" for it. One day we might be surprised who these versions really are and how they relate and connect to us.
This following paragraph relates only to hydro for reasons left unmentioned.
You mentioned banishing a spirit in the astral, well this depends on what kind of spirit class this is. With some you will have a type of moral authority over them to alter their states to release them in some sense. But this is not about wishing oneself better than another spirit. I think this involves spirit classes, but I haven't gotten to this. I will inquire about this in the astral at some point.

Michael what is your personal view on the concept of a Higher Self? Thanks.

"What you look upon mentally or physically stamps your flesh with its likeness. Whatever of imperfection has been stamped upon your body can be removed therefrom by contemplation of the perfect. Untrue visioning, foolish thinking about life, cannot hurt the perfect life in you, but they weave a veil that to your eyes obscures the perfect and translates it into the flesh as imperfection. The man who suffers from amnesia does not recognize himself, but he is himself. You are the idea of God, capable of perfect translation. Someday you will become wholly awake to your divine identity, and will begin consciously to take on the image of perfection. You never will know your true identity until you let the Mind of God instruct you as to what you are. When you become aware of your immortal nature, fear of death leaves you, and with it goes all other forms of fear. Consciousness of your true identity is awareness that you are as enduring as God.
Identity with God does not take away individuality; it enhances individuality, and gives you character superlative. It does not take away personality; it purifies and beautifies personality. It does not take away your joy of life; it refines your joy and increases it."

And this is why i practice Yoga, this is what yoga does for me. Relieves me of the burden of personality development.

Alfredo’s Reply: This is very powerful. It is indeed trusting Eternity.

You aren't saying (I hope) that the astral self , is the higher self, are you..
Jettins 3 years ago
I don't know what a higher self is. Paul i am not sure if you asking me. From what I said I don't know how you thought of that. I was referring to parallel and future selves. I still hope for the best indeed. The word has been used for different meanings so I'll rather not use it. But I can tell you a bit of who I am, it's all around the forum.
Alfredo 3 years ago
The higher self is higher than the lower self.

unlimitedsun’s Comment:
Not make a finer point on it; it's quiet a bit to wrap my head around.
So we have:
- · Infinite universes
- · Infinite dimensions
- · Parallel universes with infinite dimensions
- · Currently readily accessed self or lower self
- · Higher self or over-soul overseeing infinite concomitant selves
I here now see myself as my lower self, so I am one of an infinite other selves as me. I am here in a lower dimension, I exist relatively higher in higher dimensions. Experiencing myself as a soul, my higher soul ascends my future lives or lower selves.
All along I exist in parallel universes. All my infinite selves are ruled by my over soul all the time.
But time being so relative, and even an illusion, what becomes of the past, as in past lives? What about future lives, should that be more likely?
Just a thought!

Interesting you say this because I was thinking the same thing, that as humans we are a lower self. Using Alfredo’s way of explaining the higher self, I think there is a higher version or higher self indeed. But I do not know what this higher self would really be and how it’s composed. If I say that a higher version or higher self is somehow a “better, good, more realized” self, then I would understand a bit more. I wouldn’t want to get into this at this point. I don’t have anything to back it up, unless I overly speculate but I rather not do that. I would like to read about how you all view The Higher self. I should review my logs soon. Maybe Michael can help add some clarity to this.
Surya, you said it. It’s quite a bit of stuff to grasp. I’ve seen elements that could support the ideas mentioned on your list.

I think they are all already there in the own time warp. There is a connectedness between all of the above. At one point I hope to be able to sort it out. As of now I am only able to see some of the relationships. I think it’s like a deck of cards stacked together one on top of the other in the same space, or no space. All the different suits and numbers are events (past/future) separated by the different readiness states. Not separated by linear time, but readiness states. Perception of time is then used as the mechanism to achieve those states. Achieving the many different possible readiness states open or close the door to accessing from the rest of the deck. Each card representing every single achievements across the nexus of all time. Past, present and future, and all our incarnations that will ever exist. Like time warps in our being. How it is possible that things in the astral can be telepathic is something I think about all the time.

Very interesting, and according to A. Einstein's theory of relativity time dilates and it does ever so beautifully in S. Dali's timepieces art work! So as you say Jettins, very true; time warps in our being (if I am getting you right).
You mind elaborating on:
How it is possible that things in the astral can be telepathic is something I think about all the time.
For as big an authority as you are in astral projection I must be missing something in your statement. The dream world is after all the environment of multiple possibilities, from flying to shape shifting, to creating ...
The astral dimensions implying subtle energy primarily would intuitively mean telepathy. We are not using vocal material organs that can produce sound as we hear it. When we dream others do not hear the communications we carry out. I rather question that we talk in the astral at all!
Could verbal speech in the astral actually be a mock expression of a conditioned act just to satisfy our reason; when actually that environment is more conducive to telepathy?

Time warps in our being.
Yes that’s what I meant. Ah, you reminded me about visiting the Dali Museum in Tampa many years ago. That artwork is very interesting indeed. I will be taking a look at art work again today. I am not an expert or authority on anything, I see myself as an ordinary man perusing extraordinary knowledge, as Jordan Maxwell likes to say.
How it is possible that things in the astral can be telepathic is something I think about all the time.
Thanks for the details. I didn’t know some of the terminology you used in your reply Surya. What I said was really a rhetorical question to help me admire the beauty of it all. Like saying, “Sometimes I wonder how the air can be so perfect” or “How is it possible that being happy feels so good is something I think about all the time”

Rhetorical! I knew it! I was missing something indeed! Great minds are tricky lol.
