Breath infusion session was very good this afternoon. Near the end of the practice, I worked on the back of the head and then on the frontal part of the head. Practice usually begins with focus on just getting the gross body out of its kingdom of laziness. Once it is awakened properly, then I focus on various parts of the trunk of the body and with special work on the lower extremities which are the thighs, legs and feet. Circulation in the extremities is a problem and this gets worse and worse as a body ages. Now this body is 61 years of age, so it is an uphill battle with the encroaching authority of time, asserting itself each day, taking more and more territory under its control, stating that it will soon take the entire body and deprive me of its usage.
After feeling that I have worked enough on the extremities, I refocus on the trunk. Some years ago I had to do battle with the pubic area of the trunk but due to years of effort, and help from yoga gurus, I got a small victory over that area. After infusing the lower extremities and the trunk of the body, I usually work on the neck and then on the head.
Today I did some practice for Tibeti Yogi who instructed that I spend much time infusing the lower back end of the brain. Srila Yogeshwarananda advised that once I satisfied this requirement of Tibeti, I should bore a channel up the back of the head from the lower brain around the back top of the head to the frontal part of the brain. There is a nadi system of energy channels there. He instructed that I blast them out to be sure that they are operative and not closed or clogged.
After that I moved to the front to do a practice which Yogesh introduced. In doing that practice, I noticed that today the energy was moving up at a slant angle on the exhales. This means that as the forceful exhales went down and out of the nostrils, the infused energy from the inhales went upward. The diagram below illustrates this.
