See these diagrams from Swami Hariharananda, shown to me in the astral world:

In the first diagram there is no regard for kundalini. Instead the student directs the infused breath energy directly to the kanda subtle sex energy storage area. After some infusion, it will seem that the sex energy area is warmer and then the energy there will seem to vaporize.

In the second diagram there is a direct link between the back base of the brain with the muladhara base chakra through an energy pipe link. As the infusion continues the two areas will glow with white light.
