Half-Achieved Yogis

This morning on the astral side Srila Yogesh brought to my attention that association is vital for yoga success. He said this:

The fact is that unless one gets into isolation with very advanced yogis one cannot complete the course to full success. Other associations take one away from the full success. These associations do this repeatedly so that one may spend life after life, trying and trying and never reaching the culmination of yoga.

This reminds us of that Greek myth of Sisyphus. He was supposedly a very mischievous and cruel king and so he was sentenced forever to never achieve his aim which was to exert himself and roll a big boulder over the crest of a steep hill.

A yogi cannot be involved in any sort of fantasy about what it takes to become liberated. If you have spent the last two million human births making efforts to complete yoga practice, then how many more births are you willing to endure like this?

When will you become serious enough to push the bolder over the hill?

Are you addicted to the frustration of always getting near to the end and then dying to the physical world, then getting an infant body, then striving again, and then having the same partial achievement all over again?

Are you another Sisyphus?

The force that weakens the yogi so that he cannot make an all out effort is non-yogic association. As long as that is in place, it is dead letter.

Many of these half-achieved yogis see themselves as yoga teachers!

What?

You have not rolled the stone over the hill and you are teaching others how to do so?

How funny!
