This was said in reference to a heroin addict. It means that we come down or are ruined through habits. |
Great quote and one that applies to all. The human being naturally forms habits. Yet the world continually changes. Attachment to habit will certainly lead to disaster, given enough time. Adaptation provides the counter to habit.
Habits formed by intention and with a specific purpose are an exception to this rule. An example would be a habit of rising early in the morning to accomplish work. Of course, this has never really become a habit for me...more so, it is a daily struggle!

The interplay of expressed activities in the form of habits (unhealthy or uplifting) and their impressions on the subtle form is very important as the soul transmigrates.
