In terms of free-will, where do you see yourself in the grand scale of existence?

I perceive that everything here in the material world, including the subtle contents which can only be perceived with psychic perception, is in a contained closed system. It is similar to the world in sealed glass bottle where dirt containing microbes and vegetation is put with some moisture and then capped.

In that bottle what is freedom?

If you can explain that then I will agree if you can show freewill.

For sure some very small microbe has a whole universe to explore in there, while a little grasshopper would find the place to be very limited.

First you show me the environment.

Then you explain the sensual perception and the life form I am using

Then we can talk about how my will, free-will or even desire will come into play.

You can reply by saying that this may apply to the present, where I am using a physical human body which has senses and which is in an environment. But actually the proposition of freewill won’t stand up in that condition, because the physical body including its senses is limited for the most to 100 or so years. That means that the free will of it has no meaning in terms of the time of the universe. It is not even a bleep on the screen of time.

The other problem with the consideration is the memory of the past. As soon as you explain that my present situation has the capacity for only memory of this body and only part of the incidences which this body endured, then the whole idea of free will falls apart.

There is another problem with the discussion which is that without information I cannot make informed decisions without perpetual memory. Innocence cannot make informed decisions. Innocence operates on whimsy. Was I born with all information? If you say that I was not, then the whole thing about free-will scatters to the winds.

In other words, free will has no meaning whatsoever.

However it is serviceable to make people feel responsible for what happens in certain parts of the environment. Otherwise no one would be taken to a court of law and be confronted with the antisocial acts he or she performed. In that sense tagging a person with freewill is a convenient utility. It serves the social purpose.
