In the breath infusion practice, the first objective and this is maintained for at least the first three years, is the pushing down of the infused breath energy, so that it reaches the pubic loop, increases in charge and then arc across to the base chakra.
This is a vital for linking the sexual hormone energy to the base chakra in the direction of the base chakra, going backwards and then up through the spine.
This is a reversal of the same path used in sexual expression, where the natural system is that a highly charged sexual zone attracts the kundalini to it, so that the kundalini is pulled to the erogenous zones of the body. For this yoga practice, these zones go to the kundalini instead of pulling the kundalini to these areas.

Why the difference?
In the case of the kundalini being pulled, it is pulled by a lust energy charge (Sanskrit is raga or rajas). In the pushing of the infused energy charge, the lust polarity of the charge is removed by the infused energy and this causes the energy to lose interest in sex expression and develop interest in spirit self bliss expression or going to meet kundalini to incite it to go upwards through the spine into the brain.
Sex bliss expression is termed as prajananda.
Spirit self bliss expression is termed as brahmananda
What is the difference?
Sex bliss causes the sexual organs and erogenous zones to be the focal point of the essence energy in the subtle body.
Spirit self bliss expression causes the core-self and the highest chakra to be the focal point of the essence energy in the subtle body.

Even though initially, for the first 3 years, say, the objective is to force down prana into the system, this objective is abandoned once the system becomes responsive to it and the prana fresh astral energy is infused to the system. Then the objective becomes one of pulling out hidden bits of carbon dioxide and old used subtle energy.
Why worry about this, when you can sit in the head or in the heart-lung area and meditate? Why not ignore the hidden areas and let them be upgraded in the process of time?
The reason is that one does not know when the body will be taken away. One should not second guess material nature, or think that its desire to repossess the materials in the physical body, may be postponed forever. Nature may withdraw its support at the next moment, thus killing the body. Nature is no respecter of persons ultimately.
The danger is that any impure energy, any stale subtle energy, any heavy astral energy which is left in the psyche will affect the destination hereafter. Why feel that you will be rescued no matter what, when the supernatural people who can do so, may be taking a nap just at the time when nature decides to repossess the body.
Only a fool will sit back and rely on a scriptural promise or a sect slogan which promises help from gods or God. Do you really think that rescuing you is God’s priority and that God has lost one single night of sleep because he, or she, stayed up thinking of a rescue plan for you?
