Environment is Part of it

Breath Infusion practice this morning was great. The air was properly charged. When this happens one gets as much help from the environment that one can potentially realize.

Environment is not everything because even if you are in the right environment if you do not apply yourself you will get no result but there needs to be an environment. Wherever one exists one has to be in an environment. One has to use the energy of that location, dimension or place.

This session was saturated with breath infusion compressions, such that I frequently had to wiggle the spine to cause the bunched energy to explode out and spread here and there through the psyche. The entire trunk of the body, even the thighs were saturated with the infused energy, after every little bit of negative and heavy subtle energy was extracted from the form.

Despite this, when I sat to mediate there were capsules of thought energies which were in my consciousness. These did not take off ranting, raving and imaging, but they were present as glittering psychic objects which were on the brink of being activated but which did not expand out.

These were like time bombs where the clock mechanisms were already set but the small battery pack in each was not installed. The batteries were there but they were switched off.

I spent the first 15 minutes checking these since they were present. This caused a loss of the first 15 minutes of meditation. Once you do breath infusion, then if you lose those first fifteen minutes, it is almost like you did not do any meditation because the main benefit from the breath infusion practice occurs in the first 15 minutes of the meditation session which follows immediately after.

Sometimes when I am training others, I notice that even though I stress that they should sit immediately after doing breath infusion and meditation, they prancy around doing this and doing that, going here and there and after about 3 to 5 minutes, then they sit with a smile to meditate. These students are into mental enjoyment like little kids who are into candy and sweet drinks.

In those first 3 to 5 minutes, the best part of the meditation is lost. The energy which was infused has subsided to some extent and the highest part of the mediation practice is lost. Do not fuss around after you finish a breath infusion session. Sit down immediately and meditate. Track the energy. Check to see what happened in the psyche. Take note of the higher level which the subtle body has transited to.

=========================

Here is how this goes.

First of all, many of you who feel you know what meditation is about should stop arguing about it and just do what I say to do, even if you do not think that it will be what suits you. Part of this process requires blindly following what I advise even if it does not make sense.

Let us begin.

The meditation session which is mandatory, and which is most important, is the morning session. That may not be what is most important and productive for you but I don’t care about what you think about this. To satisfy the requirement of the teacher, you should do the morning practice just as I said to do it, even if you are not getting anything from it when compared to your afternoon session.

If your afternoon session is more productive; then so what? You should still adhere to the instruction that you should make the morning session your main and mandatory session. This is not about something to enjoy. This is about doing what you are told, just because I said to do it. The rest will come later.

Okay, with that stated, let us begin.

This practice begins the night before. First you begin this practice before going to bed, by going to bed early. The first grip this practice will have on you, if it gets a hold of you in a real way, is that it will dictate that you alter your lifestyle so that you get into bed early. No more staying up till 11pm or later. That is not happening anymore. This yoga lifestyle became dictatorial. It stops you from staying up late till the wee wee hours of the morning. Your privilege for night-life is terminated by this. You are in bed for the latest say about 9.30. And that is pushing it. 9pm should be the latest as a matter of routine. And it is not about sleeping off. That is not it.

Once you get into bed then you check the mind to see what is in it. What has it got to brood on, what happened during the day which it is still rehashing? Who does it want to meet mentally or psychically?

This practice begins like that, the night before. It does not begin by getting up early before sunrise.

Once you get into bed early and you get the mind checked to see what nonsense it has in it, then you sort through the crap in the mind. As soon as you do that you try to find naad sound. You go over in a corner with naad and you lay down.

Have you set the alarm or are you arrogantly thinking that you do not need an alarm. You may not need one, fine, but you are not in control of the sleeping physical body, kundalini is and it needs the prop of an alarm. In the ashram you do not have to have your personal alarm because there is someone assigned to waking everyone up at a certain time. But you are alone, so you have to have an alarm. Set it for 3.30am and it should be a repeat alarm, so that when you turn it off in disgust or when you are in a stupor, it will ring again in about 5 minutes. This is called a snooze alarm.

I am using one myself even after doing this for so many years.

Okay so the alarm rings at 3.30am. You will begin the practice soon after that and no later than 4.00 am

You might need to take a little five or fifteen minute sleep just to take revenge on the process of having to wake up early. That is why you set it for 3.30am. Michael Beloved said you should wake up then. You feel this is really not necessary, but you are doing it because he insisted on it.

So by 4am, you, your yoga mat, your pen, your paper, your paper-towel, are outdoors if it is not too cold outdoors if it is not freezing. You begin the session. This session has to be for 20 minutes for the least and it could be for about 60 minutes even. Then you will go inside immediately or stay outdoors and sit to meditate right there without any gap in time.

This is the basic requirement.

Can you do it?

Is this a pain in the butt for you?

Thank you very much!

A pain in the butt, definitely.

But I am doing it.

and If you chose to have pets...

make sure of what the animals will be doing during exercises and meditation too,

so they aren't distractions.

They could daily sabotage a practice.

Another good reason to go outside.

:)
