Dream confusion / loss of memory details

Loss of memory of dreams, hazy vague impression of dreams, comes from not being able to transfer the record of the experiences over to the physical side. The memory of the separated astral body is different to the chamber of memory of the physical body which is in the brain.

In the subtle body there is a memory chamber in the head of it and there are memory chambers in the chest of it as well.

In an astral experience in which the astral body is displaced out of the physical one, there will be no memory of the events unless a copy of the information is transfer into the physical system. This is like transferring or copying information from say a thumb drive memory to a computer.

The information in the thumb drive cannot be experienced by the computer until it is transferred by some means. The person who uses the computer cannot read the information even if he has the thumb drive in his hand. He must plug it into the computer and set it up for the transfer. Thus if information is in the subtle body, that does not mean that the individual who uses that body can access the information in physical consciousness.

=========================

There is another problem which occurs in astral experiences and dreams, where even though the individual is aware of himself or herself in the experiences, the memory of the events is lost except for a slight imprint of the events.

This is like seeing a movie and then forgetting everything about it except the title or except a famous actor.

This happens because of a failure to retain the details, where the details are wiped out before the person transfers it to physical memory. This is like on a computer. I typed this explanation on a computer but if I do not save it to the hard drive of the system, this information will be lost. I will then remember only the subject of the information but not the details which I typed.

The computer has two memory systems, a surface system (RAM-random access memory) in which events are created and an actual memory storage apparatus (hard drive) in which created events are stored in the form of digital impressions.

The mind operates in exactly the same way. In astral projection the same thing occurs but in the astral life, it is more difficult to transfer the information because the surface memory of the astral body does not transfer information to the physical system automatically. It has to be deliberately saved over to the physical system. This is done naturally on occasion but the dreamer may also take steps to ensure that the information is transferred

=========================

To facilitate the transfer from the astral memory to the physical one, one should never wake up suddenly and abruptly. In most cases when one wakes up suddenly or abruptly, dream recall will not be transferred. This is not true however with some spooky or crisis astral events.

When the event is traumatic, that trauma of it is sensed by the physical body. Then the life force in the physical system will take steps all on its own to retain a memory of the events. Otherwise the opposite will happen where absolutely no memory is transferred.

I discussed this at length in my book, Astral Projection and also in my book Sleep Paralysis.

Another cause of loss of memory is mental fatigue. If the dreamer had a stressful day, if the dreamer is mentally or emotional exhausted, then the separated astral system will be of low energy. It will now have its memory apparatus disabled. The result of this is dream experience but no astral memory. This might be compared to sleep walking in the physical side, there is action but the dreamer has no memory of it because none of it was ever observed or imprinted in the memory.

So yesterday was my first day back. Got up and committed to trying to improve so that I would begin to sleep better and possibly have some dream recall. I began by doing some kundalini sets for electro-magnetic field and aura perception.

Usually I work out every night, last night was weight lifting. I usually come home very hungry and eat a large meal before going to bed. Last night I had a little something light had a shower and went to bed.

I also covered over the TV in my room with black cloth. I did have a dream that I recalled a bit of. Something about a discussion that I was having with one of my daughters about some living entities that where living in a sleeping bag that we where trying to use. She could see them but I could not.

Thank you, the association is helping me to apply myself to my spiritual growth.

Well of course you are a natural you didn't even have to refocus for long!

The wonders of association!

One thing regarding the TV is that just by coming on the site one may see a good substitute for it.

A variety of topics of interest to like minded people gradually takes over the need to see TV.

I am glad to see that you readily tasting the proof in the pudding.

MiBeloved's Response:

This meal at the end of the schedule for the day, just before resting at night is a killer for dream recall and conscious astral projection. This is a sure way to make certain that there is no consciousness when the astral body separates from the physical one.

This is happening to us because we developed electricity and now it dictates what we do and when we do it, even if that means sacrificing our spiritual development and recovering whatever spiritual practice we gained in our past lives.

I can say what is ideal. It is left for you to see how you can tailor yourself to it in part at least.

No heavy meals after 4 pm. Anything after that time has to be so light as to just a teaser for the tongue and stomach.

Heavy main meal should be in the daytime, when the sun is in the sky.

Of course if you eat with family in the evening when it is convenient for everyone to be together for family fellowship, then at least know that you are killing your spiritual life in doing this, and then you have to make up your mind.

Kundalini in the body, will work all night long on night shift to process food which is taken after 4 pm. This means that it will decrease the amount of energy which it gives to the subtle body during sleep, which in turn means little or no dream recall and also more frequent visits to lower astral places, without even knowing it.

That is just the way it is.

Please see Surya about a few recent books which will explain much of this. These are called:

Below is the best information I’ve found on the topic. Tested and verified working. Posted by Nick Newport Lucidology.com

You can read the complete information here:

-------------------------

Optimal Brain Chemistry Is All About Timing

Optimal O.B.E. brain chemistry is all about timing and your body’s circadian rhythm. I’ve had literally thousands of O.B.E.s in the early morning. I’ve had fewer than ten at night.

“Wake Back To Bed”Is The Single Most Powerful Trick!

So that’s the wrong way to do it. Here’s the right way to do it. In fact if there was only one method I could use, this is the one. It’s called “wake-back-to-bed” and was invented by former NASA engineer Dr. Albert Taylor.

How To Use The Circadian Sweet Spot

Here’s how wake-back-to-bed works. Get up in the early morning during the O.B.E sweet spot, stay awake for a period of time then go back to sleep. Use the sleep paralysis methods we covered earlier and you’ll likely have spontaneous O.B.E.s and lucid dreams. We’ll use wake back to bed as the foundation for more an even more advanced induction later on called the timer method.

The Circadian Sweet Spot: 4 To 5:30 Am

This sweet spot is between around 4 AM and 5:30 AM. During the sweet spot relaxation is easy because of relatively high melatonin levels and you’ve been relaxed for several hours during sleep. Alertness is easy because cortisol brings with it a rush of two other stimulants called epinephrine and norepinephrin. These stimulants are meant to help wake you up but you can use them for dream alertness instead.

----------Tweaking The Time You Stay Up: Two Options

You have two options:

Option 1: Wbtb + No Movement

1.)  The first is to stay up a short period. For this strategy you wake up, don’t move at all (don’t even move your eyes), fall back to sleep and keep awareness on your body for the sleep paralysis wave to come.

Option 2: Wbtb + Get Up In Between

2.) The second strategy is the long period. You wake up, get up, stay up for a while, then go back to bed.

Both approaches work well but which should you use?

Going right back to sleep without moving makes it very easy to fall asleep again. However it’s very likely that you’ll fall completely asleep and not become lucid. Even so this is the method I use most because it requires no planning or effort.

With option 2 where you get up from bed for a while, it’s harder to fall asleep again. However it is very likely that you will become lucid if you do sleep. Research by Dr. Stephen LaBerge has shown getting up for an hour before going back to bed significantly increases lucidity.

My personal experience and most the people I’ve advised suggests 45 minutes works a slightly better than an hour. Several people who were not able to have success by staying up for an hour were able to have O.B.E.s simply by changing the wakefulness period to 45 minutes. Waiting until you start yawning again is a good rule of thumb.

Maryada,

Thanks for the list.

Where do you feel you should go next in this spiritual adventure?

By now I am sure you have a feel for it.

I could recommend considering the direction you feel you should take.
