Different Breath Infusion Process

I reviewed the cleaning out of dense astral energy in the thighs, legs and feet today. I noticed that the approach to this is different. I was doing this for some time now, actually for years but here of late, I was doing it the way Tibeti Yogi stipulated in the astral. His method has a slight change in approach which is a vacuum draw of the energy in the thighs. That is where this begins.

In breath infusion practice as taught by Yogi Bhajan, the system is mostly to push the air in, to compress it in and drive out the apana energy. This is a good process I used it for years and I can swear by its effects.

But when it comes to the thighs, legs and feet, it seems that this process has to be changed so that there is a vacuum draw effect rather than a compressing effect. This means that while doing the infusion, one draws out the dense energy from the thighs. Instead of pushing energy and compressing energy into the thighs one has to mentally connect to that energy and draw it out, while doing thigh stretches simultaneously with the rapid breathing.

I notice that as one draws that out, the infused energy rushes in to take the space which the dense energy occupied.

This is an example of why you have to stick with yoga gurus and not go off thinking that you can do all of this because you are potentially Buddha or whoever. You must take help from senior yogis or you will just do stereo-typed stuff which will not work in every application or you will be inspired by the wrong energy and spend months or years, doing kriyas which lead nowhere.

unlimitedsun’s Query:

Beloved Guru, does this mean compressing into the posture (or extending/relaxing the muscle system) on an exhale when tackling those areas, instead of an inhale?

And upon connecting to the unwanted energy in which direction, through what channels is it to be expelled?

Process is this:

While in a thigh stretch posture, with eyes closed, and mind focused down through the thigh, especially at any tendons and muscles which are felt at the time, one should do the breath infusion rapid breathing. While doing this the mind’s focus should be down in the thigh. If it is not there or if you cannot get it to stay there, then increase the tension in the posture. This increase should cause the mind to go to the tensed stretched area immediately, because that is the reflex action of the mind.

Once this contact is made mentally with the thigh, and with the rapid breathing going, one should feel as if the energy in the thigh is coming out of it into the torso. This is all happening mentally as you are doing the rapid breathing. It is as if the dense energy in the thigh leaves the thigh by floating out or by being pulled out by a vacuum draw force into the torso. As this happens fresh energy which was infused into the torso, earlier on in the exercise session, will rush into the thigh to occupy the areas which the dense energy inhabited before.

There is a track or subtle passage in the thigh bone, which connects into the leg bone and then has an outlet downwards through the feet into the earth. This practice is not involved in using that route to the earth. This practice recognizes that there is dense energy around the thigh bone in the flesh area of the thigh, which is the most fleshy area of the body besides the buttocks. So that dense energy which is in the flesh area of the thigh cannot be removed by downward pressure, it has no way to down because at the knee it is tied off and constricted. To clean it one has to bring the dense energy out of it.

Suppose you have a natural well which is a hole in a stone which goes down into the earth. If you want to remove the fluid you must draw it out. This is because at the bottom there is stone and there is no outlet and you cannot change that. But you can draw the water out. However, to do so you must first create some kind of water-lifter.

In this case the lifter is the breath-charged torso. First one must charge the trunk of the subtle body fully and then when this is complete one can make progress with the thigh.

You will know that you are doing it correctly when during practice of infusing the trunk of the subtle body, you feel that you have reached the bottom of the pubic area and that the infused energy is spreading out along the bottom. This is seen sometimes as white or yellow-white lines of force running along the public floor in the subtle body.

So first you be sure to do this. Then you can do a thigh stretch exercise and begin the thigh cleansing process.

Thank you for deepening my understanding of the application of agnisara. It more concerned with the mental activity/focus along the session than the breathing pattern.

Infusing the chest/lung/heart zone adequately creates a cleansing pathway for dense matters. The torso can so be charged! As one shifts focus on other parts of the body cleansing takes place.

And, at certain intervals in the course of the session locks are applied. These locks seal a pranic pressure with which to move the kundalini.

Is the charge created by breath infusion in the chest of the same nature as the pressure created by kriya locks?

unlimitedsun’s Query:

Is the charge created by breath infusion in the chest of the same nature as the pressure created by kriya locks?

MiBeloved’s Response:

The charge is the charge. It is the result of successful infusion of the air into the blood stream of the physical body and into the nadi channels of the subtle body. A long breath infusion session does not necessarily mean that the body is being charged. It depends on the conditions of the lungs and their resistance or acceptance of the air. One person might do breath infusion for half hour and another for just five minutes. The one who does so for five minutes might have infused as much energy as the other, if the other’s lung system was reluctant to take air.

Many human bodies are prejudiced to having a reserve of carbon dioxide in the body. These forms do not allow the person to change the ratio of fresh air to carbon dioxide in the blood stream. Some students have this problem and it requires months of practice to tip the balance in their favor, causing the lung to change its genetic profile.

People are not free to do what they want as we usually tell them. Genetic tendencies are a force to reckon with and these do not bend merely because I assume New Age philosophy. It is a struggle to change the natural system to the one which is conducive to yoga process. The quicker one admits this, the faster there will be real progress.

Some lungs are coded not to take in air, so even if the air is presented, that lung refuses to absorb it. A student has to work with his or her own body to bring about the required absorption rate.

The locks are ways of channeling, directing and squeezing down the infused energy. It is the way to discipline the energy so that it goes in certain directions.

For instance some people hear of these locks, then sit and apply them during meditation or during certain postures. But in the bhastrika system you apply the lock to control the infused energy, either to release it in a certain direction, to prevent it from going in a certain direction or to restrict it and use it as a valve.

Once the energy is infused, the situation then is one of how to direct it and where it is directed to and that is where the locks have meaning.

Initially the important locks are the neck lock, the mind lock, the sex lock and the anus lock. These are the four major locks. There are many other minor locks which come into focus as one advances.

In the beginning the anus lock is the most important. Why?

It is because nature created a microscopic vent hole at the base of the spine. Kundalini vents itself through this hole. In fact at the time of death of the body, kundalini may try to escape through this hole. When Narada explained kundalini’s operations to King Prachina-barhi, he said that at the time of death, Puranjana followed the kundalini through this hole, out of the physical system once for all.

That is what kundalini usually does. Never mind those meditators who are saying that they can bring kundalini to the crown chakra. Most of them are fakes. Can they stop their bodies from being constipated? Can they stop kundalini from being concerned about digesting and excretion? Well if they cannot they should not make such claims. How many hours does it take their system to process food into stools? How many hours transpire between when they take a meal and when it is expelled? Can they tell kundalini to reduce those hours so that it does not take that much time in dealing with digestion and evacuation?

So initially a student has to try to close up this base chakra hole. The problem with this is that it is a subtle hole. Therefore those students who think that ashwini mudra anus lock closes this hole are crazy. It does not. Ashwini mudra in so far as it is a physical action cannot close this hole. It can only close this hole if it is a psychic action. So this means that if to you there is no subtle body no psychic self, then your action of ashwini mudra cannot do what it supposed to do as described in the ancient yogic books like Hatha Yoga Pradipika.

The reason for closing this hole is that if you infuse energy, then kundalini will vent that energy through this base hole and so your infusion will be a waste of time, just as if you are trying to fill a tank with gas under pressure. If there is a hole in the tank, your effort will never give the intended results because as you make an input, it is escaping through the hole. So you must plug the hole. Thus at first this is the first application of the ashwini mudra lock.

Now once you master that lock and the energy cannot escape through the bottom like that, it will build up but it will do so inefficiently. This will happen because essentially at this stage you still do not know what you are doing. Still by chance from time to time, the energy will build up and it will cause kundalini to rise. So then the next lock which you have to master is the neck lock. Why is this important then?

It is important because when kundalini rises up the spine, it cannot get into the head unless it transits through the neck. Hence by applying the neck lock you can restrict its passage so that it passes through the center of the spine and also so that it is regulated as it passes through there.

But once it gets into the head then what? So then you have to know how to do the mind lock. Once kundalini gets into the head of the subtle body, which is what we conventionally call the mind, it will do what it wants to do. It is not going to just behave like an obedient little kid because you have visualized what it should do after you saw a sculpture of Buddha at a Buddhist temple with his crown chakra showing. It will act like a kid who does what he wants to do when he wants to do it and who tears up the place if his mother does not comply with his wishes. So then you need to know the mind lock.

Kundalini is a wild energy. It is not a harmonious force, otherwise human history and that of the animal world would not be one which is speckled with violence and advantage.

Okay, so that is a brief explanation of the initial practice. The sex lock is then the next lock which is considered. Why?

Because after practicing for some time, the student will realize that there the hole at the base of the spine is a pin hole in comparison to the hole which is the genitals. If the hole at the base of the spine is such that we can plug it by welding a needle into it, then the one where the genitals are, is so large that even if we get an elephant and force its body through it, it will still not be plugged completely.

When the students sees this he or she is faced with a dilemma, which is:

If I close this, that action might be counterproductive to my sexual pleasure needs. If I do not close this, then that lack of action will cause my yoga practice to reach a point of stagnation.

The student will go back and forth with these arguments until he or she decides to either junk yoga or satisfy the demands of its practice.
