Taking birth is all about desires. Desires alone are the cause of taking a material body as an animal, plant or human being. Desires are there in the psyche. These compel a person to take a birth opportunity even if the person knows that such an opportunity may cause a descent into a lower species of life.

To examine this idea, just observe infants, how they come into the world, how they increase their territory, how they grasp at certain things, all based on desires which are inherent in their psyches.

Desires are so powerful that they overrule good sense on occasion. How can these desires be controlled?

The sad part of the whole thing is that desires are converted into other fulfillments all depending on the form that person is allowed to assume by material nature. It is not a free for all. In some births one is drawn into a particular species because of an inevitable attraction to such forms even though with good sense one would not have assumed such a life.

The whole thing is hairy scary, algebraic and analog, in such a way that it is very difficult to figure out what nature will do next and where one will be pulled in the next birth.

People are usually happily entertained about how kids are so cute and so innocent and all that. Really! Imagine yourself as a kid again, with diapers, temper tantrums, full time working parents, and daycare life and so on. Is that the same sensible you whom people feel are such a little cutie?

What if the body you get in the next birth has autism? How cute would that be? And once you assume that body what out would you have?
