would you be trapped during the OBE or would you be pulled back into your body then back out again.

If your physical body dies while you were doing an OBE, you would not be pulled back into it, because the force which does the pulling would have migrated into your subtle body.
This life force remains in a physical body which is able to use its energy. If the body got damaged or is terminally ill from a disease, then the life force has to migrate because it will be disconnected from the body when the living symptoms in the body stops.
Let me go this over again from another perspective.
Our entry in and out of the body in astral projections or in OBE experiences, occurs under the control of the life force. It does not occur by our will power alone as the main controlling aspect. The will power is just like an accessory switch and can work only when another switch is functioning. Thus when that life force causes the astral body to split off from the physical system, it (the life force) remains in part in the physical system, and a part of it moves with the subtle body.
It used to be said that when the astral body is separate from the physical one, there is a silver cord which connects the two. This silver cord is like an energy transmission line. If for instance there is some anxiety near the sleeping physical body, the astral body is pulled back into it immediately regardless of the will power desire of the person concerned. But all the same if the physical system dies the life force instead of pulling back the astral body, goes to the astral body permanently.
It will be unable to locate the physical body, because its location equipment broke down or is out of commission. It is something like a cell phone system. If the cell phone circuitry malfunctions, it will not pick up a signal from a broadcasting tower. And similarly, if the physical body is dead, the astral body will not find it because the dead body no longer has a reception circuit which is operational.
A cell phone signal which is going to find a dead phone with a certain digital serial number will be broadcasted in vain, because it will never find the phone due to the malfunction in the phone’s reception circuit
The person would try to be the physical body or better stated, will try to wake up again as the physical body as usual but he or she will find that it is just not happening, and then there will be a realization that “I am dead.”, which really means of course that “I have lost my physical body. I am now stuck on the astral planes permanently. I can no longer use that social identity and all my assets, physical connections and whatever, are no longer under my control.”
