Email opinion and questions:
If I identity with the intellect, then as soon as I detach myself from it, it disappears and is no more. That is what I have reasoned out.
But if I become the instrument of the Paramatma (supreme self) and let him be the doer, then I can live without being under the influence of the intellect. What is your view of this? Are you in agreement with this?

MiBeloved’s Response:
The disappearance of the intellect by mental detachment is not an effective practice in kriya yoga, because as soon as the mental detachment is slackened, the intellect again gains control of the psyche and makes it operate in a spiritually-destructive way.
In chapter 2 of Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna gave the procedures for the practice of Buddhi Yoga. He actually used the term buddhiyoga. Why not study this system which he explained and practice it?
On one hand you cite the influence of the Paramatma supreme self who is Krishna but on the other hand you suggest that we should ignore those buddhi yoga procedures which he explained and just surrender to him and do what he says. This is a contradiction. In the first place the part of the Bhagavad Gita which supports your idea is in chapter 12 but there Krishna gave that solution only as a digression, where he said if you cannot do this, then do that and if you still cannot do that, then do this.
You feel that you can just act in the world and not do the yoga austerities (buddhi yoga) and by acting for God in that way you will be liberated, but this is for your convenience. You will not achieve liberation in that way but what you will develop from it, is some self-esteem, some confidence that you are going in the right direction without having to do the austerities of buddhi yoga.
Let me ask you a question, this chapter twelve where Krishna digresses and gives lesser solutions for the devotee, why did Arjuna not take those lesser paths?
We find that in the life of Arjuna at the end of his life, he had to take up austerities in the Himalayas. We also find that before the battle where the Gita was told to him Arjuna had to practice austerities in the Himalayas. Some Acharyas have said that there is no history of Arjuna doing yoga but in all honesty, that is a flat out untruthful and most misleading statement. It is not true. What is true is that the Acharyas who said that did not read through the Mahabharata which is the history of the Kurus (Pandavas included). Arjuna was a mahayogin before the battle of Kurukshetra.
You think you can follow the Paramatma?
Arjuna did not have your confidence and when the Paramatma in human form asked him to do the battle, he began to cry. Your idea is that whatever the Paramatma would ask you to do would be without austerity and would be nice but that is not supported in the Bhagavad Gita.
In fact a person who has not mastered buddhiyoga cannot consistently serve the Paramatma because the Paramatma is cruel to our social life. The Paramatma does not understand our material attachments. The Paramatma does not see that we are our bodies and he is dispassionate towards that and this is why he could compel Arjuna to be cruel to the corrupt relatives on the Warfield.
Is that the Paramatma you are speaking about or is someone else?
Are you going to take advice from a Paramatma which might tell you to kill your uncles, grandfathers and cousins just because they are corrupt government officials?
Okay. Then go ahead and accept the easy path of doing what the Paramatma says.

What an awesome perspective. I keep rereading it.
