Conventional mental activity shut down

Success in shutting down the conventional actives of the mind happens after long practice. Then in mediation one notices that there is no urge to go to the frontal part of the subtle head where the conventional thinking and imaging takes place.
One notices that after a thorough breath infusion that if one sits to meditate, then the frontal part of the mind is shut down, in total darkness, as when in a big city the power goes out and there is a lull of silence until the power is provided again.
This happens after the yogis have for many years repeatedly turned away from the presentations which the mind illustrates as thinking and feeling ideation.
When the yogi consistently turns his back on the thinking imaging mechanism, then he makes progress and finds that in a meditation, his efforts paid off.
Then there is a similar experience as shown in this diagram:

In this diagram, how would one employ the use of the Om Mani Padme Hum mantra? Or is it possible to utilize the mantra in this specific scenario?

I do not understand the basis of the question, so that makes it difficult to give an answer.
Chanting of a mantra, any mantra, how is that related to naad sound which is shown in the post above?
