Be your own psychiatrist. Sit and confess to yourself for about 10 minutes each day. Write it down if you have a diary or blog.

If that feels too alone, then pretend that you are writing it to your spiritual guide or actually do send it to your guide.

Over the years I found that some persons cannot write something down unless they feel they are sending it to some senior who cares about them. So if you feel like that then assign a real or imaginary senior and put pen to paper and relieve yourself.

Yes, be your own.  I remember somebody saying that psychiatry is a made up branch of pseudo science because it's based on pharmacology and was invented to exploit the western absence of spirituality which causes psycho-spiritual illnesses within us.   In my late teens and early twenties, conventionally i would have been a typical candidate for some psychiatry but luckily a tendency towards yoga inquiry rescued me from that land of the lost.  I relieved myself of spiritual illness through continued self analysis and never once felt the need for traditional therapeutic help.  The thought of medications terrified me, and I knew no psychiatrist/therapist was worthy of my pearls of darkness, so into the self I explored with my anchor of Yoga to guide me all the way and beyond.

That's a cool art display...confessions, even just within the privacy and presence of one’s higher self, are healing indeed.

Such testimonies are precious, and give great hope in an environment that is increasingly polarized between aspiration to consciousness uplifting leading into spirituality and higher material consumption leading to alienation from compatibility with our ultimate welfare. It is encouraging and hope inspiring even if such examples remain unique.

An awesome way to touch base with yourself.

I liken it to "coming clean" with yourself. You can put on a front for society or religion, but you can't really lie to yourself... you can be in denial (or any other of the stages of "death" as proposed by Dr. Kubler-Ross)... but ultimately, you know the truths about yourself. So I love this idea of having a "confession" time with yourself. No one has to know what comes forth, but it is imperative to be honest with yourself. It will help you to be honest with others and, in turn, the world.

My two cents.smile

Trish.
