Cittavritti Gone

This morning when I was meditating, I reached a place where the frontal part of the head was completely quiet without any effort on my part, just by itself. This was the result of following some extreme instructions from Srila Yogeshwarananda about doing a double session of bhastrika pranayama with special focus on the trunk of the subtle body, not worrying about kundalini or about the head and brahmarandra.

So this development happened because of following some instruction of Srila Yogeshwarananda and Tibeti Yogi. I have not seen Tibeti now for some time. I can only guess that he is gone very far beyond siddha loka.

In any case this is an important development. It proves conclusively that one cannot master Patanjali yoga without doing the 4th process, which is pranayama, effectively.

However when I reached that place and made this notation to myself to write this down, then I got a beam energy from Rishi Singh Gherwal where his form appeared in the astral distance through a micro tunnel energy. He said this,

“That is the reason why you could not contact me for many years.”

He said that he worked to complete his austerities for many years in the astral world, and could not breach the austerities to teach others, even though during the life of his physical body he spent many years teaching. He also said that to get the mind to the level where it does not produce thought/images, takes a certain amount of austerities. Even if one knows the process, a certain minimum of time will have to be invested regardless.

The magic of Srila Yogesh’s instruction is that it has nothing to do with anything in the head of the subtle body. It concerns the trunk only and still it has the effect which many yogis long for in the head of the form.

As great a yogi as Rishi Singh Gherwal had to isolate himself from students in the astral world in order to complete his Patanjali yoga practice. What can be said about others?

When one reaches the stage where the cittavrittis shut down by the effects of pranayama, not by the effects of will power or thought observation and denial, then one finds that there is a gap there where the thoughts used to occur in the head of the subtle body. One actually misses the chatter (cittavritti) of the mind.

That is really funny, that after years of working in meditation to eliminate that, years of failing to do so on a consistent and steady basis, when one attains the proficiency, then one realizes that one has a dependence on this riff-raff behavior of the mind.
