Chit Kundalini Process

On the astral side this morning during breath infusion, Swami Muktananda gave me some kriyas having to do with chit kundalini. This is different to the accomplishment for what is called kundalini, which specifically is prana kundalini.
Prana kundalini is known as kundalini and concerns the sushumna nadi central spinal passage with chakras which are release vortexes. In prana kundalini the student first aims at causing kundalini to rise through the spinal column. At first this is the total objective. Many processes are used. Among these the primary ones are:
· Meditation with visualization based on information received from a mythic
· Meditation without visualization with the hope that there will be an experience
· Breath manipulation based on information from a breath expert
· Mantra manipulation – using sound to cause kundalini arousal
· Diet manipulation - using food to cause kundalini arousal
· Invoking a deity to get help in arousing kundalini
· Sexual Organ/Energy manipulation with the hope of controlling the kundalini when it is aroused by sexual sensuality
· Herbal/drug manipulation which causes kundalini to be aroused
· Guru or Deity infusion, where a spiritual master or deity infuses sufficient energy into the student to cause kundalini’s arousal
· Accidental arousal of Kundalini through a fall, bending the spine in one direction or another, acupuncture, drug effects during surgery, accidently make a sound which arouses kundalini, being struck by lightning or by a solar or lunar ray discharge.
Even though these methods do cause kundalini’s arousal, these may not be consistent methods. The direct way to make kundalini to rise is to use its main energy consumption which is breath energy. By doing pranayama kundalini yoga, one can cause kundalini to rise at least once per day. Over time this causes kundalini to stay aroused but with functional consciousness, where the person can do ordinary work even with kundalini being in a residual aroused condition.
With breath practice, the student learns to push the buildup of breath energy which is above the navel down through the navel area. After this is mastered it is pushed through the groin area pass the genitals.
It then arcs across to the muladhara base chakra. Being struck there by the infused breath energy, kundalini makes an attempt, though reluctantly, to move. When the arced energy reaches a certain threshold, kundalini ceases its hesitation and then moves. It will either go down or up. If the student mastered the base chakra lock (ashvini mudra), then kundalini will turn away from looking downwards and will look upwards. It will quickly move up the spine but only to the extent that it is pushed by the infused energy.
If there is little infused energy, it will rise up through the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th chakras. If the infused energy has a potent charge, kundalini will hustle up into the brain.
The ultimate aim of a prana-kundalini student is to raise kundalini to the brahmarandra crown chakra. However there is another aim which is to make kundalini permanently abandon the muladhara base chakra which is its grotto or home base.
What would happen if on one occasion when kundalini was aroused into the brain, it did not descend again to the base chakra?
A student should give this some consideration.
=================================
Prana kundalini which was described above is the introductory course of kundalini yoga. For the purpose of chit kundalini, prana kundalini is absent. With chit kundalini there is no sushumna central passage. There are not chakras. While in prana kundalini the objective is to get kundalini to come to the subtle head, in chit kundalini the objective is to cause the trunk of the subtle body to be infused with light (as in sunlight). Then the student has to clear out the neck so as to cause a free flow of energy from the trunk of the subtle body to the head of it.
A student begins this practice with a subtle trunk which is filled with darkness, dark astral energy. This dark energy is extracted and replaced by fresh subtle energy though breath infusion practice. When this practice is complete, the entire subtle body is filled with light having all of its dark energy expelled out of it.
