Causal Plane Energy

Sri Lahiri Mahasaya sent another message today about the contact with the causal plane. This place is just outside of the Brahmaloka situation, which is also known as Satyaloka.

Instead of waiting for the chit akash sky of consciousness to dawn in one’s consciousness one can push to accelerate the process of making contact with it by taking energy from the causal plane of existence. This is not the chit akash but it is closer to the chitakash than any other of the subtle material planes of existence.

What is the kriya?

It concerns first cleaning out the subtle body so that one can reach at least the Brahma loka level of existence. Once one reaches there, one can then do some more breath infusion and that may cause one to reach the causal level of existence. But instead of going out of the subtle body to that causal level, as some great yogins do, one should remain in the subtle body and pull energy into it from the causal plane.

Sometimes it becomes necessary either through desire or through necessity for a great yogi to leave his subtle body somewhere in some dimension, exit from it and go to the causal plane. The yogi then stays in the causal plane for a time and then comes out again and resumes his subtle body. He comes back out into this existence again but on a high subtle level.

A yogi in this way is not allowed to remain forever on the causal level but stays there for as long as his previous austerities permit in terms of how long his subtle body can remain in a samadhi state. It is similar to like when a yogi goes into samadhi from the perspective of his physical body and then awakens as it suddenly, like when a polar bear wakes up after a hibernation phase. Some of it is controlled just by the laws of psychic nature. Some is regulated according to the degree of austerity of the yogi.

This kriya is used so that the yogi does not have to go outside of his subtle body to reach the causal plane. In fact this student yogi as instructed has no authority to enter the causal level and may not be able to even leave his subtle body to do that. But he can bring energy into the subtle body from the causal level of existence. This causes such changes in that subtle body, that the chit akash becomes manifested more definitely in meditation practice.

This is the way in which a yogi, so long as he has a physical body, can use it to make more and more progress, as allowed by providence.

The immediate benefit of having energy from the causal plane in the subtle body is that it loses its desire for heavenly life in the celestial world. The substance energy from the causal plane is desire concentrate. When one is in touch with it, one is not attracted to desires in the subtle or gross material world. This does not mean that such a yogi will have no desires but it means that internally he or she had no interest in it even though he may on occasion participate in the history of the world. This is called manifested attachment with full detachment as its inner force.

A person who lived like this and used a material body was Vyadha (vi-ad-huh) a butcher in the Mahabharata. Even though he was involved in a vicious most despicable life style still he remained as a liberated soul and was more advanced than Kaushika, a brahmin, who followed pure principles and had lofty lifestyle.
