Bliss effect of breath infusion practice

Initially the bliss effect of breath infusion practice comes only when kundalini rises up through the spine into the head. Some students feel the energy and then they blank out and have no experience.

By consistent practice, over time, one learns how to motivate kundalini to rise during each session of practice. A determined student should practice aggressively so that there is at least a small rise of kundalini if not all the way into the head, at least up the spine above the navel area.

The bliss effect is special since if one can experience it daily, it might free the student from having to hunt for happiness in other ways. If you have a balanced diet, then it is likely that you won’t go about chasing every smell from every kitchen which reaches your nostrils.

Once you master the rising up of kundalini into the head, your next effort is to cause kundalini to rise in the trunk of the body and in the extremities, In other words in every other place except the head.

The problem with this is that it does not give the intense pleasure bliss experience as when kundalini comes into the head. This is because usually for there to be a bliss experience, the kundalini has to be appreciated by the intellect (buddhi analytical orb) which is in the head.

Sexual climax is a type of bliss experience. In fact in Sanskrit it is called prajananda -- praja (progeny) + ananda (bliss), -- which means the blissful experience one acquires when one attempts to beget progeny.

In yoga however the chase is for brahmananda (brahma (spiritual reality) + ananda (bliss), which is the pleasure derived from linking into the exclusive spiritual plane of existence.

However we can learn something from sex experience, from prajananda, which is that it is appreciated best when the intellect in the head of the subtle body comes down to meet the sexually-expressed kundalini in the genital regions and the auxiliary sexual equipments like the lips and breasts.

If a sexual experience occurs and the intellect is not involved in it, there is no intense bliss experience. From this observation one can decide to bring the intellect to wherever energy is aroused during breath infusion practice. If this is done there will be bliss experiences in other parts of the subtle body besides the head space of it, which is the mind.

Tibeti Yogi and Srila Yogesh gave me this information which I share in this post. Good luck with it.
