I had a special visitor today during the afternoon session in which I am currently training Tobe Terrell. He is using a body that is over 70 years of age, but he is able to push himself through with the aggressive breath-of-fire practice. It is said that a human body is so valuable that it can give the spirit using it, the chance for liberation, if that spirit can muster up the courage to practice the right techniques.

It does not matter if the body is a black, white, green, tall, short, or even diseased, provided it is a human body that has a good spine and brain. For pranayama, a good set of lungs are required and a diaphragm that will do some work instead of trudging lazily through life.

Tobe has picked up the practice very quickly and has the will and mindset to use it in such a way as to make rapid progress. This afternoon I went out earlier because he was involved in some activity and said he would be out in about five or ten minutes. During that time I began doing some posture, some of the more difficult ones which are not suited to a beginner, especially one who is using an old body.

When Tobe arrived, I began doing the session with him in consideration. This means that I have to tune into his body and needs and use postures that apply to his psyche. That is different to practicing on my own where I am doing postures which are suited to my stage of practice.

Working with others, teaching others is something like when a large oil tanker looses engine power and has to be pulled to its destination by a powerful tug boat. The tug boat is small in comparison to the tanker but it has a large powerful and efficient engine which allows it to pull the heavy tanker in.

By itself, the tug boat can go very fast but when it is hitched to the tanker, it moves much slower. Teaching kundalini yoga takes mystic perception because kundalini is not a physical thing which you can see with physical eyes. You have to be very advanced in mystic practice to teach it. It is not like teaching asanas where the teacher checks for physical posture. The key here is psychic energy and its movement. The teacher has to be aware of the psychic parameters of the student’s body, so that during the practice, he knows what is going on with the infused force and with the kundalini.

When we were exercising, Sri Babaji Mahasaya arrived in his sunlight body. This is a body made of light, so that it is very difficult to see it because he is in a realm of clear light and his body is made up of the same thing. This is like when there is a jelly fish in the ocean and that creature has a body which is transparent. It is very hard to see it in the first place and if you do see it, it is hard to determine where it begins and where it ends

It is not merged with the ocean but its body’s transparency and coloring which is exactly that of the ocean makes it difficult to see it.

So Babaji is almost impossible to see. The same can be said about the body Jesus Christ uses in the astral domains.

Swami Shivananda has also taken such a body which is made out of sunlight.

When Babaji became manifested it was like he had just come out of nowhere, like somebody stepping into one dimension from being in another dimension suddenly. He said:

“A yoga siddha body is created when the yogi has got the entire trunk of the subtle body completely cleared of low astral energy, when just subtle energy of the highest quality, prana, is in that form. It is not a matter of belief. It occurs by yoga practice, except in the case of those who came over here from the other side, the divine beings.”

When he said this we were doing a posture and then we stopped breathing and held the last breath in. At that time Tobe blew out the air since his body needed air. When I heard him exhale, I said inhale soon after, then I said exhale, then inhale then exhale then inhale and then lastly inhale and hold.

All the while I did not need to get any air, because both my subtle and physical bodies are able to absorb volumes of air during the breathing as compared to others who have not mastered the practice.

Doing rapid breathing is no guarantee that the physical and subtle lungs are taking in the air. The air might be going into the lungs and the lungs might be refusing to absorb the air. In which case the body will not be infused with all the air which is inhaled. On another note, even if the body takes in the air, if many cells are highly polluted, it will take some time for that infused air to flush out the negative gases. In some cases cells in the body, even in the lung have become attached to the negative gases and these will rebel and refuse to take in the air. A student has to struggle with this until he or she gets the body reformed from its addiction to carbon dioxide.

Noting Tobe’s breath, Babaji said this:

“So what is the difference? Why does he need air so quickly after a rapid breathing session? Is his psyche not taking the energy efficiently? Just by gauging that efficiency, one can tell if a yogi will get a yoga siddha body after leaving physical existence. It is not a belief. It can be tested like that merely by the breath absorption capacity. Pranayama is essential to the practice.”

Good Job Tobe!  Keep pushing while you still have this physical body.
