Last night I awoke early in the morning after 3-4 hrs of sleep and study for a couple hours until sleepy again. Shortly after falling back asleep, I started a dream by walking up to the door to a house (that I assumed was mine in the dream) and the keys were already hanging out of it. I mentally panicked thinking that I'd left the keys there all day and quickly entered the room to see if there was anything missing or anyone inside.
As I entered the room, I spontaneously became aware that I was dreaming and that my room wasn't really broken into and was relieved. At the same time, I mentally stopped searching the room as I recalled what Michael Beloved posted on this forum previously: He said TO RESIST THE URGE to do anything. Instead I DREW my OUTER ATTENTION inward to the back of the head to refocus mentally. The effect of this was instant and dramatic!
From inside the room I was immediately pulled upwards at a dizzying speed. In a flash my astral body was through the ceiling and rising in the dimly lit sky. I looked below me and saw the buildings of a city merging together as I grew distant and continued the rocket-like acceleration upwards. My perspective as if laid straight out and at a slightly reclined angle, while looking down at my ascent.
I could see a huge plume of dust rising from the sheer speed and power of my rise into the sky. Then I reached the upper atmosphere and lost awareness of where I was going. The massive power that had been pulling at the back of my neck directly where the medulla oblongata is located dissipated and very quickly I found myself floating back down to earth. And I was soon at ground level looking around trying to figure out what happened and what to do next. Then I awoke and committed the experience to memory.
Even now, five hours later, I can still feel the power of the pull that occurred in vicinity of the bundle of nerves in the back of my head. It still feels somewhat alive and charged. There's no way to describe the intensity of the pull and the rapidness of ascent upwards from that pull and I have no idea what the source of it was.

MiBeloved’s Remark:
Even though this is the common format of dreams and even though this is laughed at by intelligent people as illusions in the mind, this is very important for study for yoga students.
Since this is a mixture of astral reality and mind-created astral objects, this is important for understanding how the mind interacts with the astral energy to create objects even houses with keys and also to superimpose these on the real astral domains.
A student has it as part of the lesson plan in yoga, to study this and to eventually become objective in such dreams, become awake in the dream itself so that one realizes that one is in an astral place and the place is responding to one conscious and subconscious desires and motivations.

MiBeloved’s Response:
It is natural to want to control what happens in the astral world but this attitude is a left-over from our attitude in physical existence where we want to be on top of everything. Of course nature does not tolerate any such predominance for too long. Look at what just happened to Kaddafi. The poor guy was installed about 40 years ago as the king pin of Libya. Providence allowed him to seize the country when the king was absent. The guy had it made in the shade and his family and clan were well situated. And then providence dumped him. So we want to be kingpins because after all nobody wants to be at the bottom of the totem pole.
However somehow one has to shed this attitude when one does spiritual practice. In astral experiences if one tries to exert will power too much, the experience may come to an end. This is because the application of will power usually interferes with the elevating force which is affecting the subtle body and causing one to have the experience in the first place.

Sounds to me that you had an alien abduction. Maybe you should call the local newspaper; they might pay for your story. Or perhaps you were hit by a time warp or a nuclear vortex. Were you flying over the Bermuda triangle? Are you married because this is dangerous since your wife and family might be concerned that the next time this happens you will be gone forever.
Anyway from a yogic prospect, you goofed up here because in the first place your mind was still using the earth as its major reference. This is a serious thing. There are many people meditating and they talk about the Infinite and the Absolute and so on. Are they cracking jokes?
Because if the earth is still your major reference all that talk is meaningless since your psyche will remain earth bound with its lofty ideas.
The thing to do if you can in these experiences is to completely detach yourself from your earth reference. If you can do that then the experience would max out in a much higher way.
Here is an example, when I used to work at AT&T in Denver sometime around 1973-1974, I used to astral project daily at noon. I would lie on my back on the company lawn so that the sun was in line with my brow chakra and then I would astral project within 15 minutes for the most. Sometimes I would go away from this planet to the sun planet.
But if I was referenced to the earth, I would have remained earth bound. I could recall then when I lived on the sun planet before in a body which instead of being made out of solid and liquid materials, was made only out of light energy. Imagine a place in which there is an environment and in that environment, everything is made out of light frequency with varying colors, even the vegetation and the buildings.
To go beyond the earth, you have to release yourself from the earth reference. So long as that is there, these experiences will be limited to the earth. The fact that you were looking back to the earth indicates that as being the reference point of your psyche.
I have a house in Guyana and I was living there some years ago and now I am no longer there. So to make my present time miserable, I may begin thinking of how it would be nice to live in that house. In other words if that house is my point of reference then just about any other place would be miserable.
If I release myself from that reference, then every place where I go would be satisfactory.

MiBeloved’s Response:
The plume of dust part was caused by your imagination because you were using the earth as reference and also space travel as it is for rockets.
In the future try not to use earth as the reference. One other thing is that your mind will use the earth as reference if it is not unhinged from the earth-culture information which is stored in the conscious and subconscious mind.
The experience is real. That you can be sure of. Kundalini must have concentrated itself at the base of the brain and due to that, the subtle body was energized to such an extent that it no longer was able to keep itself in its earth-bound profile.
Experiences of this nature is rare because kundalini rarely behaves in this way except for those who are very proficient at kundalini yoga and know how to either induce kundalini up and out of the spine, or cause kundalini to be withdrawn to the base of the brain or into the brain itself.
Don’t feel that this type of experience has to be from another influence on your subtle body. It could happen from changes in the subtle body itself.

MiBeloved’s Response:
The problem here is that you are using the earth experience as the reference. You are using the material body as the reference. So we are talking about the subtle body and you keep going back to what is happening to the physical body. You have a hard time segregating the physical from subtle. That is normal.
However you should endeavor to break that normalcy so that the subtle body becomes your reference. It is a great experience through which you can understand the possibility of survival beyond the physical body. The reality of the subtle body is evident.

Yes, I do have the earth as my only reference point and due to a lack of routine meditation, I don't have any real proficiency in subtle awareness. So when I do achieve subtle awareness by accident, I'm always at a loss for what to do and instinct takes over. Circumstance hasn't allowed me to meditate on a regular basis but I expect that I will have more opportunity eventually.

Don't fool yourself!
Nature could care less whether you meditate or not because its use of you has nothing to do with meditation.
Why does it need you to meditate?
You are one of its power-supplies, so its concern is to tap energy from you through attracting your attention.
Ever heard of wireless energy hook up?
Nature already mastered that in reference to the limited individual spirits. Science is way behind.
As soon as you learn how to meter what nature is taking from you and you find some way to put a valve on it so you can regulate it, you will be able to install a software which shuts down the system daily and switches to hibernation.
But don't think that nature will install that software.
In fact nature's virus protection will probably uninstall it as soon as you get it in the system.

Great experience Priyah! There are several of us on the forum that are logging our daily astral experiences/projections and by you posting it, helps us to objectively evaluate our own experiences. Keep sharing.

Had another astral projection last night. Again, this was because I awoke early in the morning and then returned back to sleep. Shortly after going back to sleep, I became aware of my dream state and was unable to maintain solid objectivity. I was in a room floating around but didn't really have control of it. I would move up and down sort of like the wind.
Then I shifted to an outside setting and tried to climb a tree that would normally be impossible to climb and failed. I tried to walk through something else but it pushed back and refused to let me go through. This sort of activity continued for awhile and then I returned back to normal sleep.
Overall it felt like I started to astral project initially but then due to a lack of energy I remained within the mental construct of my brain and its imaginations and transitioned to a lucid dreaming state for most of the time.
