Recently I get the feeling that my interventions here are viewed as if they come from a troll trying to mock the beliefs expressed in this forum or perhaps, that I'm a person who enjoys philosophical debates for the sake of it.

To avoid more assumptions about my beliefs and intentions here I'm going to write a little about me, but I already said to unlimitedsun on one occasion that there's not much to tell since I never visited any ashram, never met a real swami in my life, never had spiritual visions and the like. It's fair to say that it's a pretty boring story in that sense.

As I once explained, I grew up in a Catholic Christian culture, but my family never was a religious one. I've always had this interest for the other side of life, the invisible one, so I started reading almost anything related to it. Wanting to experience myself the supernatural I bought my first book titled something like How to develop your psychic abilities at the age of 14 (sounds funny now) :)

As I was growing up so it was my serious interest for my spiritual development as a human being in this material plane and it happened that I found the path of yoga, so I read Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Yogananda and some others. I tried to find a serious yoga school nearby but the one I found in my town was for women who wanted to look younger...

I think it was in my last years in high school that I planned a program for practicing yoga on a daily basis at home. I used to get up 1 hour before the alarm sounded and do some hatha yoga postures plus 20 minutes of pranayama/meditation before going to school. I tried to do another session before dinner when my body was not too tired. I remember that those days I had a couple of vivid & colorful dreams of me flying... but as I was alone in this quest, doubt arose every now and then and, not having a reference to head for, I quit.

I tried to start all over again, in different periods of my life, but I could never find nearby a serious place for the yoga practice or for meditating with people. I guess that as one grows older one gets accustomed to a very same situation and does little to change it since he/she assumes it can't be changed. I've always been postponing my spiritual work for a better moment in my life, when I had a better job, with more free time, etc and this I was when I realized that in a couple of months I'll be turning 40 and still I'm waiting for better times to come, but that will never come...

After some years reading about Buddhism, I decided to go back to my origins with yoga and I found about Swami Rama in Swami J's website. I got inspired again by this swami, watching his videos in YouTube and reading some of his books/articles on the net. Searching for more about him I found one of MiBeloved's post about meeting Swami Rama in the astral and then I got hooked on this group.

I think that's all I can say and it got too long, sorry for that.

Neo!

Show your face and your real name.

Thanks for your details.

It is common that a person who has psychic interests discovers himself as being in a materialistic society which does not promote or encourage the development of the psychic side of life. Most of us had that experience. It is just the way it is.

Some persons who are new to Meditation Time feel that the site does not welcome critiques or certain comments. Actually this site is not censored by anyone. We have no moderators, which means that you won’t get a note saying that we have not posted what you wrote. As soon as you post, it goes up automatically unless the host service, which is grou.ps, is down.

But we reserve the right to give counter opinions and to challenge opinions. If you have the courage to post, then we also have the courage to speak out minds point blank.

This is a freedom of the press site, if there ever was one.

I would like to see your face.

Having been in the convent of the Carmelitas Descalzas, in Avila, having been a witness to what She heard from San Juan de la Cruz.

And how She described Yogic Samadhi.

Hola Alfredo,

Why is my face so important to you? I'm not even handsome.wink

Are you Spanish too or just an American who has traveled once around Spain?

What do you mean by:

having been a witness to what She heard from San Juan de la Cruz.

Neo,

that was a touching story

I think a lot of people here can relate to it, and also

I think you have very nice way with words, and telling a story.

I assume it's something you are developing as we speak, in the form, or journals, poetry, stories ...etc.

Peace,

c

Neo:

Your face is very important because out of it I can make sense. You are a coward by not letting us see it.

You see our faces and draw conclusions.

I can't expect you to be handsome, and I could not care less.

I am 100% Galician.

It must be something that comes out when one talks from the heart.

Thank you for your kind words.

MiBeloved doesn't have his photo in his profile either... Anyway, I don't like posting my details on the net for everyone to see for security reasons. If I posted my details in every forum, social network, websites, etc I've visited, with just one click everybody (with good or bad intentions) will have access to my life, and that's something I don't like. I don't mind sharing my details with friends, but not through an environment where everything you say or do get saved forever. Probably I'm being paranoid, but you'll have to live with this.

In a near future, if we get friends and still you are that interested, I could send you a picture of mine to your email account.

What's up bro?

Yes, Sir, like that galleguiño from A Corunna that stuck it in your Spanish understanding. The one buried near El Escorial, to the left 5 miles north in "El Valle de los Caidos".

No problem, please show us your ugly Castillian face, no matter what.

Indeed Neo, the path is long regardless of birth circumstances, the different stop and go and all the detours along the way; so long as the opportunity is available we make progress. A seeker only needs light.

Welcome! You can identify here for I see that you surely belong.

And, thank you for following up...

Well ! Neo ! Your story has a lot of similarity to mine in the way i found this website. I too had read a lot about Swami rama and was particularly interested in the Agni sara Kriya, to which Swami rama places a lot of emphasis. Unfortunately there was a lot of contradictory information on the net on how this kriya has to be practiced and there were no centers near the place i stayed that taught this kriya.

Eventually i landed up on this site when i saw one of Michael's post on this kriya in a very clear and concise manner. Ever since i am hooked to this site.

Swami rama was an adept in the science of Sri vidhya and the Swamij website has some limited material on this. Are you practicing anything related to this. If you want any additional info on this, i can send it to you

No, I'm still figuring out how but I'll be back on track as soon as I find my north.

Take care!

Welcome Neo. I also speak spanish.

Thanks Jettins,

Me alegra saber que también hablas español. Sometimes I feel clumsy talking in English so if I ever talk to you, I'll feel less insecure wink
