This film can give some idea of what it would be like if one were to enter one of the parallel worlds which is adjacent to this physical situation. This is very similar to what Darren experiences in a parallel place in the UK.
Alice tumbled down into a dimensional space-way and found herself in another place which appeared to be physical. However even though the persons living there experience a physical-ness this is actually an astral place.
Alive was gone for just about half hour during an engagement ceremony in which she rejected the aristocratic suitor. During that space of time, she lived for days, a long time in that other astral place. She was pulled into that place by supernatural forces which involved her because she had a karmic link to the place.
In more than one scene Alice either eats or drinks and her body size either shrinks or enlarges. However in those parallel worlds, this might happen even if one does not ingest anything. The subtle body is capable to expanding and contracting and does not require a cake or beverage but in some such places, food or drink taken can produce such results.
Alice was aware that everything was taking place in her dream and therefore she surmised that since it was her dream she should control it, but on occasion things happened which were not to her liking and which she could not prevent.
Thus she did not have absolute control over her dream.
We get some enlightenment from a Taoist Master named Chang Tzu, who after dreaming admitted that he would not be sure if he dreamt he was a butterfly or if a butterfly dreamt that it was him and had taken over his existence during the dream period.
In that other place, all the animals and even some of the plants spoke language. This happens in some astral realms. A more important means of communication in those places is instant telepathy without language conversion, even without inner mental language conversion.
Some of the creatures like the caterpillar called Absolute, seem to have more intelligence than Alice. Some of them have comparable intelligence to human beings. This is not far out because in some astral realms the animals have human cognition even though their forms are those of animals.
It is also possible by twirks of destiny to be stuck in an animal species with human intelligence and not be able to get out of that animal configuration despite the superior intelligence.
In that world, there was no visible struggle for resources as in the Avatar movie, but there was a definite power struggle between the red queen and the white queen. That place was ruled by a female.
Presently on this human planet there is a silent but definite war going on between males and females as female vie for power and actually seize some power which was long held only by males.
There was no sign of sex or babies in that world. In some astral worlds there are no babies taking birth even though there are some persons in child forms or juvenile forms. And sex is visible in some astral place.
Usually however in the adjacent parallel places, there is no sexual interplay where people live in places which to them are as physical as this world.
At one point Alice said that the dream was a figment of her imagination and she felt that she could control the entire place on that basis but she was unable to effectively control every circumstance she encountered.
This movie is worth seeing since it would help to understand those parallel worlds. Alice came back with full memory of the experience into this physical world and continued her social life here but in some transits to parallel world, a spirit might be stuck there forever and might totally forget this physical existence.
