Comment to 'Skill and Survival'
  • I barely watched the guitar experts.

I find the illustrative statements poignant:

"A yogi should study the operations of fate, and its weaving of skill into the lives of the individuals who are scattered through existence like grains of sand sitting in a farmer's field.

    Is skill a trap?"

Yes, I'd say that skill is a definite trap, for sharpening survival skills, survival is a basal skill, as permitted by fate. But sophisticated and elaborate skills when not accompanied with self awareness lead to exploitation, as the limited favored by providence learn to subtly take advantage of the masses.

The exception would be being skilled in introspection and self realization. But those are more circumspect than (material) circumstantial survival skills.
