When Europeans bid farewell to their family members leaving for the New World since they couldn't put up with their, hmmm unacceptable ways (?), even then, I'd venture to say they didn't imagine that their departing dear ones will centuries later evolve into this!

To be fair most Americans, by the popular vote are progressists, and have values that align with the rest of the developed world for the most. Because when it comes to the separation of religion and state or laicity much remains to be done.

The man is not to blame for this at all. He isn't trying to put any sheep's clothing one. The followers are fanatically drawn thanks to their own! He is just being a person doing what he knows best, which is what we all see, even prior to the candidacy becoming serious.
