I would tie honesty as defined above to one’s sense of responsibility and their intended as well as unintended consequences.But what is one’s true responsibility in these realms of activities?And too, there isn’t “sufficient” free will, as we would like to always have the instinct or the knowledge of the right decision or action to execute.

    Still, it is a fact that honesty in dealing with others is best policy. Such desire for trickery need to decrease as one advances, in order to facilitate a reprieve or eventual withdrawal from the field of activities. Any dubious act is bound to create further karmic knots, like dumping buckets on a drowning person.
