Tattooing, Jewels, and adornments are evolutionary traits from patterned fur animals like Cheetah.

SOCIAL SIGNALING is an important function of fur—from raised hacklesindicating aggression to coat patterns that help members of the same species to recognize one another.

We humans compensate for our lack of fur by decorating our bodies with tattoos, jewelry, and other adornments. We also have complex facial expressions, as well as the ability to convey our emotions through language.
