Pranayama Practice 02/21/20

Good Morning All! I wanted to share my practice this morning because I feel that it made a significant shift.

Also, I wanted to hear anyone's thoughts/experiences around my observations.

It is 23 degrees in the northeast US this morning which always makes for some nice cold air entering your system to boost your pranayama session. There were a lot of frontal kundalini explosions in the abdomen, chest and thigh areas. As well as back kundalini explosions below the waist in the hamstring, calf and buttocks areas. As I progressed through the session, I could faintly see the subtle outline of the physical objects that surrounded me in the room. I was successful in mentally directing the bliss energy after the bursts of kundalini up the spine from various sitting, squatting, and kneeling asanas. Kundalini rose up the spine into the back in the head after most postures throughout my session. Naad was present pretty frequently too.  For the first time in 10 plus years of pranayama practice, I was able to catch a brief glimpse of the buddhi organ. Core-self observed the flickering lights in the dark like an old movie projector running automatically. My last posture rose kundalini up into the head forcefully, paralyzing the subtle body momentarily and leaving the core-self in complete silence. Moments later, I began hearing several popping sounds coming from above. Sounded like popcorn exploding in a pot(old fashion way) or someone popping a sheet of that bubble wrap used for packing. The mind was very cooperative with minimal distractions and meditation was very peaceful. I then observed this thought energy,  as I peered into it.  I could see myself instructing my children who are 9 and 7 years of age now on spiritual matters. I interpreted this as ancestral energy but not 100% positive.

Thank you for listening.

      Great Practice!

      Every man/woman for himself/herself.

      No practice No progress!

      • Michael Beloved Thank you!  But kind of a cryptic answer.  Could you explain please?

For the child which is 9 years of age, there are 7 more left when that child will be 16 years of age, which is when the time will come where that child is no longer a minor. For the one who is 7 years of age, there are 9 more years before minorship. This is give or take a few more years. We will see if you will step out of their lives or remain because of empty nest syndrome.

Each yogi must endeavor for himself or herself, otherwise no progress occurs for that individual.

        • Even though I have given up this practice, I was highly impressed by this report. Bravo!   I am amazed how you were able to track kundalini and channel all the bursts with containment throughout the session.  It shows a high degree of containment of energies overall.

I wondered about this statement of yours:

My last posture rose kundalini up into the head forcefully, paralyzing the subtle body momentarily and leaving the core-self in complete silence.

In my meditation, I have encountered this complete silence of the psyche a few times.  I always thought it was the mind that is silenced, at which point the core is all alone to make unbiased notations and deductions.  Just wondering what you might think about that.

Again. Well done.  Seeing the buddhi organ even once, even briefly, is a breakthrough, clearing the way for further progress.

            • Marcia Beloved I very much appreciate the sentiment knowing your advanced understanding of the practice and glad to hear from you. As you know when having these experiences it oftentimes no words to describe or convey what you witnessed.

But to answer your question: Marcia Beloved wrote: I always thought it was the mind that is silenced, at which point the core is all alone to make unbiased notations and deductions.  Just wondering what you might think about that.

Dean Archer from what I could sense, it's like the core-self had reached a level that may require it to burst through or out of a layer of whatever substance that it may be contained in. Sounds crazy, but when hearing the popping sounds I felt still, no vibrations in the mind or what Patanjali referred to as “vrttis”. It was clear that the sounds were being produced independently as if there was a layer that was bubbling or dissolving from above.

And to your point, it is difficult to comprehend it because the core-self is in an environment where unbiased notations and deductions exist so how do you properly convey it to others?

No doubt it is a conundrum.

Again I appreciate your analysis, and I hope that I answered your question.

              Namaste.

              • Thank you Dean.  I was thinking about your post during the night; I was lightly sleeping and vaguely aware of thoughts arising over and over and over. There is no end to them!  They are just a noisy display of nonsense.  I feel I may have mis-spoken when saying that the psyche could be silent.  I don't think it ever is.

This statement of yours is clarifying:

Dean Archer from what I could sense, it's like the core-self had reached a level that may require it to burst through or out of a layer of whatever substance that it may be contained in.

I think the "core", when isolated from the noise, or as you said: reaching a level that may require it to burst through....." ,  does then experience itself more authentically, and enters those zones of stillness and observation. Even there is sound like the popping you heard, that seems to be coming from an adjacent dimension that is totally apart.  It is hard to describe.  Wonderful though, because one gets closer to knowing what is absolute and what is temporarily manifesting.

Thanks for sharing your experience.  I really appreciated that you were objective throughout the practice session. Many experiences I've had happen spontaneously in sleep or when entering or awaking from sleep.  Those that have been seen clearly during exercises and/or meditation seem to come from long, applied steady effort.  They are earned--not awarded.
